Making It, While Making a Difference - Advanced Screening Party

Celebrate Asian Heritage Month with Cold Tea Collective on April 27th for an advanced screening of the documentary, to learn more about Cold Tea Collective's vision for elevating Asian voices, and an opportunity to experience the Chinatown Storytelling Centre.

We recognize and honour that this event and the production of this film took place on the ancestral and stolen lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.

ABOUT THE FILM:

Making it is hard. In our first documentary film, find out how three young Asian Canadians are following their dreams while uplifting their communities and celebrating their Asian heritage with Cold Tea Collective.

Featuring:

Chef Patrick Do is changing what it means to be a Vietnamese restaurant in Vancouver. Learn about his journey through food and identity as a young Vietnamese Canadian chef, and the visionary behind Do Chay Restaurant.

Saschie MacLean-Magbanua is moving through grief with dance and community. Learn how vulnerability has helped this mixed-race Filipina Canadian find joy again after losing loved ones.

Curtis Lum is fighting against anti-Asian racism from within and around him. See how his work in film and fashion are helping him fight for better representation and a better future.

+ a special podcast interview with Harpo Mander, creator of Brown Girl Guilt Podcast & General Manager of 5X Festival
