Jerry Castle gets rowdy on new track ‘Throwback Texas Man’

Jerry Castle embraces vintage on his rowdy new track ‘Throwback Texas Man’.

Available to stream and download now, the song channels the grit-fueled attitude of Castleā€™s favoriteĀ Texan icons likeĀ Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones,Ā Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Rolling Stonesā€™ saxophonist Bobby Keys and more.Ā

“Iā€™ve long felt a kinship with Texans and many music business types have recommended thatĀ I moveĀ to Texas,ā€ says Castle. “Along the way,Ā Iā€™ve playedĀ Austin, Houston and Dallas and have becomeĀ friends withĀ a whole bunch of Texans.Ā This song is an observation of the types of traits thatĀ these TexasĀ dudes have. They never complain.Ā They get the job done. Theyā€™re respectful, God fearing, Hard living, and treat their women with respect.”

Written and produced by Castle, the cinematic ‘Throwback Texas Man’ will transport listeners back to the era of saloon door-swinging honky tonksĀ with a fiddle intro that charges like a rodeo stampede.

The song is mastered by Chris Gehringer (Lady Gaga, LeonĀ Bridges, Keith Urban)Ā andĀ mixed by Jim Cooley (Luke Combs, Sam Hunt). ItĀ follows ‘With The Band,’ Castleā€™s featuring the lateĀ Bobby Keys, a Texas-born saxophone legend who performed with everyone from The Rolling Stones to John Lennon to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
