Stories We Share: How to Bridge Divides in a Polarized Nation
Free Workshop with Michael Vagnini

February 28 | 7:00-9:00pm

Despite massive strides for freedoms in past decades, our nation continues to suffer from intense political polarization that has become intertwined with social issues that affect so many of us personally.  Using lessons from past civil rights movements and research in social psychology, we are going to explore ways to build the trusting relationships we need to break the culture war cycle.  Personal storytelling, learning how to “call in” instead of call out, and strategies for deep conversations are three key approaches that we’ll explore for use in our workplaces, within our families, in the community, and on social media.  Come ready to share any of your own stories and perspectives in this inclusive workshop!

Sponsored by the Midland County Inclusion Alliance and Northwood Athletic Department Diversity and Inclusion Group (DIG).

This session will be an expanded, more comprehensive version of the one delivered in June 2022.

In person: Join us at Northwood University, McNair Center (Robert Plaster Bldg.)
