We pickup right where Power left off in book two of this series. When Amelia Becker started working for Shyam Sethi she never knew how dangerous one job could be. He may be the CEO of Sethi Tech by day but what hides beneath is someone darker. Shyam wants one thing, well maybe two...find Amelia, and destroy his enemy Tarun. Can he find her alive or is is too late? This is a fast paced romantic suspense and does involve kidnapping in case that’s a trigger for you. Overall this was an enjoyable, easy read. Told in dual POV

I absolutely loved this book. I loved how Amelia was a strong woman who was able to get herself out of some tricky situations and I loved how Shyam stopped at nothing to protect her. Their relationship grew more in this book and some of the scenes were pretty steamy which I loved.

This book was a page turner and I would have easily read it in one go if I didn’t start it so late at night. It was a perfect conclusion to Amelia and Shyam’s story.

Holy smokes, where to begin?!😍🔥 I absolutely loved this book and getting to see Amelia being such a strong and badass character. My heart broke so many times for Amelia and Shyam (especially Shyam with the decisions he's faced with💔) throughout this book with what they had to face, however their passion and love for each other kept them going. This book had some turns in it that I no way in hell expected so it definitely keeps you on your toes! I was on such a roller coaster of emotions throughout the book and the ending felt so perfect🥺 and very nicely wrapped up. Super excited to read about Master Jai in the next two books as he has me intrigued👀

Empowered is book two in the Power series. And it concludes Ameila and Shyam's story. I loved reading Power, but I have to say, Empowered topped it! I was so amazed at how the storyline picked up! Its definitely a fast paced read, the events in this book had me screaming, literally! I mean, wow. I don't know how to describe it. You'll definitely be on a journey while you are reading this book! I loved the ending! Even though I'm little sad that Ameila and Shyam's story is over. But, I'm definitely looking forward to reading Jai's story (Shyam's brother) All I have to say, you really need to read this series ASAP! Empowered takes off from the ending of Power, (and yes Power does end off a cliffhanger, just to warn you 😊).  Please note, there are triggers in this book and it might be unsettling for some readers to read.

Amelia is a computer programmer, she's working at a start up tech company. Shyam is a business man, he owns his own tech company, however that's just a front to his not so legal business transactions. Shyam buys this start up company. And when Shyam and Amelia first meet there's an instant attraction. As Ameila begins to work for Shyam, the chemistry between them heats up. As Ameila gets pulled into Shyam's world, she's torn whether to stay or not. Ameila is kidnapped by Shyam's enemy. She's taken to India. Scared and alone in a foriegn country Ameila is hoping that Shyam will save her before it's too late. When Ameila is taken Shyam's world falls apart, he will do anything in his power to find her.

Oooh weee y’all! I’ve been waiting for this book since I read Book 1, Power back in December. This book picks up where Power left off so if you read the first book the answer to your questions will be answered here.

I think what I loved most about this book were two things. The first being the reality of missing someone you love and thinking they could be dead and how Shyam dealt with that. Second, the fierceness that is Amelia and the evil she faces. She’s a strong woman. She didn’t let her situation stop her from helping herself. She handled it.

“With each swipe of my tongue, I moved lower, tasting her essence. Silky honey. A man could get drunk off her sweetness.”

Shyam Shyam Shyam....still the man we love but boy does he make me mad. I was reading this and was thinking, “Ah hell. This is some bull....” and then I was like, “Awwww yeaaaa. That’s right!” 😜🔥

This book is fast pace and will keep your heart racing with each page turn. It’s the perfect conclusion to Shyam and Amelia’s story and I am IN LOVE with the Epilogue. I’m invested in these characters and I can’t wait to read about the other Sethi brother, Jai!

5 star read!! Get your copy today. Can’t wait to add this paperback to my shelf next to the first one! Well done, @victoriawoodsauthor! 🔥🧡

Wow, this story was just as intense as the first one. I really admired Amelia and her strength while she was captured by Shyam’s brother Tarun. With her determination to free herself from her captive she also promised Selena that she will help her to free her from the cell and cruelty of Tarun. With the great plan she was able to make that happen but what came after that she never saw it coming.

I enjoyed this story as much as the first one and I was one the edge of the seat throughout the whole story . The darkness and the intensity was perfectly written and I highly recommend it to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Empowered ● Power Series Book 2

@victoriawoodsauthor

What a beautiful conclusion to Sethi & Amelia's story! This book is full of drama, tragedy, angst, steamy scenes, and love. There's something about a dark, dangerous, possessive man moving mountains to save his girl that melts my insides to goo ☺ My emotions went on one hell of a roller coaster ride 🎢 but it made their HEA that much more intense.

I'm looking forward to Jai's story- he's the fun-loving, playboy brother who flies by the seat of his pants & never lets himself get too serious (In other words- the one I always fall for). Loving this series! You need to read it!!

This is book two of the Power series and picks up where book one left us.

Amelia continues to be a strong female lead, which was amazing to see given the dire situation. Shayam is still the alpha male you loved in book 1, and there are definitely times when I wanted to smack him, but Woods makes it impossible to hate him.

This book has it all: amazing characters, great chemistry, plenty of steam, emotion, action, suspense and fabulous writing. This was the perfect conclusion to Amelia and Shayam's story.

Empowered is meant to continue where Power left off, so it is best to read Book 1 first. I love the main two characters Amelia Becker and Shyam Sethi. Amelia never knew how dangerous Shyam work us. Until one day she has to face the enemy. I enjoy reading about this strong fierce women and how Shyam goes way beyond to protect her. This is a fast romantic paced book with some tigger warning like rape and kidnapping. Other than that it’s a great roller coaster read.

Wow! What a follow up to Power. Victoria Woods knows how to write amazing suspense that had me turning the pages.

I am glad that Empowered picked up right where Power ended because I really needed to find out what happened to Amelia & Shyam. And it was worth the wait.

I am new to Victoria Woods’s writing and I am loving her work. I can’t wait to read more by her in the future.

This book picked up where the last book left off. I had my questions answered and a satisfactory ending for Shyam and Amelia. It was rough going there for a bit for these characters.

There were a few areas that I wanted fleshed out but for the most part this story has me excited for Jai and his story.

Empowered by Victoria Woods, is the second book in the power series and the conclusion of Shyam Sethi and Amelia Becker’s story. Empowered begins right where Power left off. In Power, we saw Amelia and Shyam start a relationship and they were virtually inseparable until Amelia gets kidnapped by Shyam’s enemy. We now see Amelia in India with Shyam’s rival. Will Shyam save the woman he loves or will Amelia die trying to escape?

Empowered is fast-paced, thrilling, action-packed, and entertaining. I really enjoyed reading Power, but Empowered tops it. I loved it so much more. In Empowered, Amelia and Shyam have changed for the better and I’m here for it. Amelia became more confident, self-sufficient, and all-around an inspiring woman when faced with dire circumstances. Shyam learned to let others in, especially Amelia, and he transformed into a compassionate and more human character.

Let’s talk about Shyam for a second. His character was so well written and well-developed. Being Indian I can see how the author created Shyam and what elements she used of Indian culture. I absolutely loved the scenes in India and including Indian words, tradition, and mannerisms. I’m sure readers who haven’t been to India will use their imagination to recreate the scenes in this book.

This book is dark, twisted, and right up my alley. It is well-written, and the writing flows beautifully. I read Power and Empowered in 24 hours because Amelia and Shyam’s story captivated me and the events of this book had me on the edge of my seat. Both books were addicting, emotional, and very hard to put down. I experienced the love, loss, and heartbreak of these characters and it almost brought me to tears. I loved that Shyam and Amelia got their happy ever after, but I’m going to miss these characters and their relationship. I am looking forward to seeing more of these characters in Jai’s story. Power and Empowered are definitely worthy of rereading. After reading both of Victoria Woods’ books I’m a fan and I will continue to read her books. This book is at the top of my 2021 reads, if you are looking for a dark, steamy book with an alpha male and a sassy female then Power and Empowered are the books to read! This book is well-deserving of over 5 stars!

This is book two and completes the duet in The Power series. Amelia and Shayam's story continues where it left off in book one. Amelia has been kidnapped by Tarun who is Shayam's enemy as he killed his mother in the most horrific way causing his father to kill himself so now Shayam thinks that Amelia is dead and goes into a down hill spiral as he knows that it is his fault for having Amelia into his life but what he doesn't know is that Amelia is stronger than he thinks she is and she will do everything possible to get back to him if she can. Shayam is at rock bottom thinking that he has got Amelia killed but his brother Jai is determined to find and kill Tarun for all the pain and suffering that he has caused them. The twists and turns keep coming but how will it all end only time will tell. I absolutely loved this story even though I ended up in tears with all the emotional situations and I felt like I was there going through everything with them and feeling all the pain and I couldn't put it down as I wanted to see how it would all end and I definitely wasn't disappointed with the outcome. Victoria Woods is an amazing author and writer and I can't wait to read more of her books as they are so addictive and real page turner's that keeps your attention and you on the edge of your seat. I definitely recommend you read this Duet and you definitely will not be disappointed but he prepared for a real rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Yes!!! This book exceeded my expectations. Filled with danger and high pumping action.

Amelia has been kidnapped and Shyman thinks she is dead. He is distraught and drowning in sorrow over his loss. He finally understands what a fool he has been.

After Jai convinces him to search for her body, he begins a new mission. As the search goes on a clue leads them in the right direction. Will he wipe out his enemy and take back his empire?

This book picks exactly up where the last left off. I was addicted to the very first page. As in the last book, this one is a dark read full of abuse amongst other dark subjects.

The book has all aspects of an amazing dark and sexy read. The characters and the paths they are on is intricately written to perfection. The other is very skilled and has created a dark dangerous world. Her books are high energy and danger lurks around every corner.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was on the edge of my seat from the very first page. I fell in love with the Sethi brothers and can’t wait to see what happens next with Jai. Two brothers who are close and loyal, yet different personalities altogether. Jai is a fun loving snarky guy, where Shyman is the dark, serious brooding type. Both unique and equally dangerous. Yet so sinful.

Overall this book is an excellent continuation to the book Power. If you love the books Button & Lace series by Penelope Skye, then these books will be perfect for you. So pick your copy up today.

Empowered picks up directly where Power left off—and let me just say that Victoria did not come to play. Amelia has always been a strong character from the very first page of Power, but she truly bloomed into her full potential in Empowered. Even during her most vulnerable points, she never allowed adversity to waylay her from swimming through the murkiest and most perilous of waters—she allowed her experiences to ‘empower’ her. She wielded pain into power from the beginning to the very end.

Shyam is a highly-controlled character, if something doesn’t bend to his will, he removes it. He is a man of few words, with a very conservative range of emotions—that wasn’t the case in Empowered. While he still remains the formidable, powerful and sexy alpha we’ve all come to know and love, we get to see his softer side in Empowered (and you’ll be swooning, trust me.) He made hard choices, he took risks that could have cost him dearly, but he valued love over all even if it meant letting go.

From her very first novel, Woods entered the writing world by storm, wielding words in a way that defied her neophyte status as a new romance novelist—and in her second novel, Empowered, she obliterated that status once more. She writes like she’s been doing this for decades and possesses a distinctive writing style that harmonizes imagery, action and compelling characters that keeps you engaged from the first page to the very last.

There’s only ONE problem I have with these books… she makes me want more of her world, more of her characters, and more of her work.

The sampling of Jai at the end was an amuse bouche for what’s to come that I guarantee will leave you salivating.

This is book two of the Power series and picks up where book one left us.

Amelia continues to be the strong female I love her for, even in such a dire situation. She continues to surprise me throughout this book with her resourcefulness and determination. She's honestly, the ultimate badass woman who we should all want to be like🙌

Shyam, continues to be the alpha male you love from the first book. There's a few times where you do want to hit him, but I understood his actions - even though I was slightly mad. But overall Shyam is just so perfect for Amelia.

𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘯. 𝘔𝘺 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘯.

Now, the bit you're all waiting for. The sex scenes. By the time Amelia and Shyam got down and dirty again I was practically happy dancing for them😂 Steamy sex scenes are definitely present in this book!!

This is an absolute fantastic conclusion to Amelia and Shyams story. I loved every minute of it. And I'm so sure it'll be a book I definitely reread! I'm definitely a cheerleader for Victoria - you have to read her books! ❤

Once again, this cover goes so well with the entire book! It makes complete sense.

I liked this duet so much! Hated to see it end but am looking forward to reading Jai’s turn.

It picked up exactly where it was left off with book 1. Chapter 1 started off hot and heavy!
I was expecting to read about certain scenes and for the book to get dark, but it didn’t go there at all. I like my books really dark and I’d consider this to be light gray. I wish there was more action. Certain aspects of the book sort of dragged on a bit for me.

The story line and plot were well written. The romance between H and h was so good, I felt all their emotions. My heart broke when the H sent her away. I was screaming at him to explain on why he was doing it. I know he thought he was doing the right thing but ugh!! He hurt me.

I wasn’t sure if the author would be able to finish the book in a duet bc it was getting pretty close to the end with no HEA, but she did! And it was done and written so wonderfully. It didn’t feel rushed to me. The character development throughout the 2 books was great and their relationship was wonderfully expressed to perfection!

Empowered starts right where power ends.

I have to admit that I didn’t like this book as much as the first book in the series. I feel like Amelia went through some major trauma and should have dealt with it or had some type of emotional something something that she had to deal with after. Instead, it felt like she went through a traumatic event and she was a “bad bitch” and can face anything. This doesn’t go with her character from the first novel even though her character was evolving.

This novel was really fast-paced. So if you want drama, action, romance, heartbreak and lots of steamy scenes that keep a great pace, then this is your book.

Although the character development took place in the first novel, I would have loved to see more character development in this novel. We see Amelia go through the ringer without much development. Shyam got a little more in depth into his character and more mysteries were revealed but I felt like the ending for him could have involved more perspective.

All in all, this novel was a good read. I finished it really quickly and enjoyed reading it. The novel was reminiscent of 50 shades mixed with a mafia genre minus the BDSM.

Instantly we pick up from the ending of Power and HOLYFRIGGINHECK the tension and explosive start to this book has me HOOKED! This is such a powerful read and drags & captivates you into the story and their journey.

My heart was breaking from Shyam and the emotions i am feeling for Amelia is unreal. I felt myself holding my breath whilst reading let alone the aching of my heart. But the underlying passion, love and reasoning is mesmerising.

I absolutely adore Jai he is a real character and reels you in with his humour and persona. I am intrigued to find out more of Master Jai!

“𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬.”

That was really the most heart wrenching rollercoaster emotional ending to a story but leaves your heart fulfilled and yess i am definately wiping my tears away. Victoria Woods has captivated and immersed me within this world! ❤

Picking up right where we left off in Power we are thrown into all the action! Amelia is still one of the most amazing and strong women I’ve read! She never gave up and always found a way to get herself out of a bad situation and although she doesn’t necessarily need Shyam to save her she definitely was so happy he came for her. We got to see their relationship evolve and see just how much Shyam really does love Amelia and I mean truly in love he is with her. We can’t forget about Shyam and everything he’s going through as well when Amelia was taken plus the business this man has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he had to make some decisions that were heartbreaking.Once again Victoria Woods gives us a complete page turner from beginning to end! Let’s not forget about Shyam’s brother Jai that man is so damn funny and I can’t wait for his story!! I have a feeling we are going to have to dig deep with that man! Empowered is a complete must read!! This was a new author for me and I devoured book 1 and couldn’t wait for this one!!!

Victoria Woods is a new to me author who I'm so in love with after reading Power (Book 1) & Empowered because this journey was my kind of dark & twisty jam with a big side of heat! You do have to read them in order, and there are triggers that could upset people so take heed. Amelia & Shyam's story is all consuming so seriously, don't start it right before bed & if you think you can, just know that you'll be up until every last page is devoured. These two people are perfect for each other, but it's definitely not an easy journey whatsoever because of the obstacles & even danger. I'm totally trying to keep this review so vague since it could give spoilers away from the first book but also because y'all just have to experience it for yourselves as dropping f-bombs for all the shocking stuff is the best place LOL! Now I'm dying inside for more in this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Amelia is a "kick ass" heroine that faces her trials and tribulations head on... And she succeeds and does it well! She is a very smart and savvy tech genius who uses her wits to save her several times in this series. Along the way, is hired by Shyam Sethi. Shyam is a business owner (a major drug supplier) who needs Amelia's help to create a facial recognition program to find his arch nemesis, Tarun. Tarun, a drug lord (among other unsavory businesses) might be in India. He doesn't want to be found. He has taken drastic measures to ensure he is safe in hiding.

Will Amelia and Shyam find love between them? Will it blossom and last through it all? Will Amelia succeed in writing the program and find Tarun? What will happen when Shyam finally locates Tarun? You'll have to read Empowered to find out!

I received an Advanced Copy of Empowered for review.

This is the 2nd book in this awesome series and continues straight on from when #1 ended. Amelia has been captured and Shyam thinks that she is dead, leaving him determined to destroy his enemy, and distraught with his loss. Amelia is strong and determined and to escape from her kidnapper. Jai convinces Shyam to search for Amelia even if it is to bring her body home, which gives him the strength to continue his search. This is a well written fast paced tale which is dark, intense, and is filled with suspense, danger, mystery, romance, and is a steamy read. I look froward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

As soon as I reached the end of Power I had to pick this one up right away! I got right back into this world and couldn't wait to see what all was going to happen this time around! I enjoyed this second installment!

Shyam and Amelia's journey continues! Once again I was feeling so many things with both characters throughout this installment! I wasn't sure what all was going to happen and that got me into their story even more!

With Empowered, Ms.Woods has created such a good read that you won't want to put down!

This is the second book in the series. I picked this up right after Power, the first book. I couldn't stop reading and I finished this in one day. I love how the story picked up and all the suspends that was behind the big issue in this book.
It's hard to write a review on the second in a series as there is a lot of spoilers from the 1st if you have not read it. The only thing I can say is I love both books so much probably this one a little bit more just because of the happily ever after factor.

Empowered by Victoria Woods is the heart-pounding conclusion of Shyam and Amelia’s story!!. She’s been taken by his biggest and most feared rival….and his plans are nefarious!!! This story is gritty, barbaric, romantic, longing, aching, and heartbreaking. Everything comes to a head in this stunning end of this duet!!

Like its predecessor, I devoured this story!!!! Though this one has ended, Jai’s story is coming up next!!! Can’t wait!!!!

This book picks up where Power left off. The author once again pulled me right into the story and had me glued to the pages right to the end. She answers the questions left from the ending of Power and does a fantastic job bringing the story to it's conclusion. It's a fast paced dark romance with a thrilling story line , has tons of action and is an entertaining romance. I loved and highly recommend this book/series.

Lordy, lordy! This is the second book I've read by this author having completed Power right before Empowered.

Both mains wiggled into my brain, and they would not leave!

Ms. Woods did a fantastic job of keeping me engaged, and turning page after page to see what would be next.

Intense, emotional, amazing character builds.

I will most definitely be checking out this author's other works and adding to my ever growing TBR list!

Fantastic!

This shouldn't be read as a standalone as I tried. It can get a little overwhelming and confusing. Yes, I liked the premise of this but felt as though I should've read the rest of the series. It is dark, twisty, and messed up just how I like it. Also, it is action-filled and you won't want to put it down.
