Location, amenities, the kitchen setup, the bathroom and the shower. The secondary deck, and the ability to walk and enjoy the local shops and food selections.
We loved staying at the Idyllwild Inn! We even extended our trip to another day and the service and staff were extremely helpful! We were so close to the main village and the lobby has a folder full of information about nearby restaurants and their menus. We will definitely be coming back and staying here again.

Idyllwild is a delightful mountain town!
Idyllwild is a delightful mountain town! We were there in mid-January with snow covered peaks and beautiful vistas. My friends and I hiked a few miles up Devil's Slide trail and encountered small amount of rain that turned to fluffly, large snowflakes as we reached higher elevation.

Idylwild is the perfect mountain community.
Idylwild is the perfect mountain community. Since there is no ski resort, there is none of the annoying ski-related traffic, just a beautiful, tranquil experience of nature and mountain life. The residents are overwhelmingly friendly, willing to talk to visitors as if they were life-long friends. Many scenic hiking trails for the adventurous, but also many fine restaurants, a world-class brew pub, etc., for those who just want a relaxing stay with great amenities. We were so impressed with the area that we are considering buy a vacation home there.

My husband and I love Idyllwild, but it is a challenge to find things to do for kids, especially disabled ones who can't hike the steep slopes of even the easiest trail, Ernie Maxwell. We found Lake Foster had flat trails and was beautiful, even tho the lake is dry, but signs said "Closed indefinitely" and "No Trespassing". We drove to Lake Fulmor, and although the trails were paved, wide and flat, they were in terrible condition, actually broke a wheel off my daughter's "Upwalker" a mobility device that contains a seat if she becomes too tired to walk. FYI, wheeled mobility devices can go on packed dirt, concrete or asphalt (usually!), but NOT gravel, bark, mud etc. Restrooms not open. Wish there was a swimming spot in Idyllwild.. Both of my disabled kids are expert swimmers. Loved not having to eat out every meal (cabin with kitchen.) All the restaurants in town are very expensive except La Casita. We eat there once every time.

I searched many place before deciding to book at idlwyd inn . The location was beautiful , rustic, and central to all the shops and restaurants. The sweet lady at the front desk even provided Laundry service for us wich was fantastic. Very clean and cozy! We will definitely be coming back to stay in the future.
It's my second time staying at the Idyllwild Inn. The cabin we got was very comfortable, clean, filled with the necessities, and very cute! The hotel is based in the center of the city, walking distance from restaurants, coffee shops, cinema, bars, shops. The team is always so nice and sweet. We got a dvd from the front desk and watched it in the morning. You can see the stars at night. It's quiet and tones of hikes all around. We will come back and stay there again!
Everything about the Inn was perfect. Everyone was super friendly upon arrival. Spotless, comfy bed, private little patio, ask for the Ponderosa room. Location, location, location. The Inn was within walking distance of the adorable downtown. You had everything nearby breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, shopping. I will highly recommend Idyllwild Inn. They also have 2 and 3-bedroom cottages I will try next time with my family.
In the heart of Idyllwild, the cabin was in a quiet but very central area in Idyllwild. The cabin was super cute and had two porch (front and back) to drink your coffee in the morning or have a drink at sunset. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The kitchen was well supplied with coffee and appliances. The best part was all the carvings made by previous guests on the wooden wall.
I am privileged to be one of the first guest at The Creekstone in Idyllwild. The property has a great history, but I see an exciting new chapter being written. The cool style and luxurious rooms are a welcome addition to this vibrant mountain town. The buzz about this place is already getting out, so it won’t be Idyllwild’s best kept secret for long. Thanks to Raven and the staff for an amazing stay.
We had such a fabulous stay at The Creekstone. It has been completely redone, it has a fun, sophisticated, cool vibe. The location is fantastic, being next to The Grand Idyllwild and a brisk walk into town. We love escaping to Idyllwild several times a year and we are so thrilled that Idyllwild finally has a young, hip, modern hotel. I just can't wait for the bar and restaurant to open!
So pretty house, my first time went to Idyllwild, then when I came into the house, I was so surprised, house condition is same as picture I looked.
And one thing important that the place really clean even if any corner. Beautiful city and beautiful home, I love here then I decided to visit again with our friends and we want book the place again.
We love everything about this place it was cozy love the fact that we were 3/4 of a mile from near by stores and the privacy on the cabin my kids love the the fact that the drive way was their own hill to slide on the snow, love this place so much we’re going to start renting this place again every year to keep making memories with my kids
We had a great weekend with this hotel!
It was perfect! Wooden house with fireplace and everything we need inside!
In the forest with Mountain View!
The lady on the reception was very helpful and kind!
We’re 100% satisfied with our choice and definitely would recommend this place to anyone who wants to come to Idyllwild!
Beautiful spot nestled in the trees and close to town. The cabin we stayed in ( Lodge House) was rustic and charming. We loved sitting outside on our private patio, thinking about who built the cabin, listening to the birds… I wish the weather was cooler so we could have enjoyed the fabulous fireplace!
The hotel is located in a perfect area from which you can make beautiful hikes and plenty of parking available. The hotel is recently renovated and looks very up to date, compared to my San Diego hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and in for a nice chat. I definitely try to come back again.
Breakfast was very good with various items from which to choose.
Lodge is neatly tucked away in the trees with a grand entrance up the hill.
Staff is extremely friendly and professional.
Love the 12:00 check out time!
Great location in Idyllwild, super cosy & cute, my cabin at a real fireplace next to the bed so I would say it's a perfect room for a romantic week-end :)
Loved the place as it was clean and comfortable and pet friendly plus the view was amazing and very close to the creek as well plus restaurants close by
