Meryl has been part of the BA, the trade body which promotes retail bookselling in the UK & Ireland, since the year 2000. Her first role in the organization was as a conference assistant in. Since then, she has worked across all of organisation’s major campaigns including Books Are My Bag and Independent Bookshop Week as well as being heavily involved in the policy work. In 2018 Meryl took on the role of Managing Director and was named FutureBook Person of the Year in 2020. Meryl is passionate about all aspect of the book trade.
