Good except for the annoying drama. Abrupt ending too. 3.5 stars.

The author certainly captured me with the sweeping detailed views of the area where this lovely story is set. Ocean views, old timeless construction, charming towns that surround the Amalfi coast. It makes you want to sell everything, pack up, and go! Richly detailed, you get swept away by your dreams while reading this one.
Blades also gives us many strong points regarding the reality of taking on a huge project of updating old properties and starting over in a small town that is struggling to survive. A completely different way of living, the clashes of old ideas versus new, and the reality that six months is nothing when you are working on a massive undertaking.
The author had me with the overall story and the details but lost me with the annoying and unnecessary drama towards the end. The slow to develop romance was sweet but she killed it with a really strange and abrupt ending. Not sure why that happened.
Generally a great story concept, lovely characters, and a sweet romance. Fix the ending and it would be golden!

It Takes a Villa is the first time I have read Kilby Blades, and I definitely wouldn't be against reading another (slightly steamy) novel from her! I loved that this is set on the Amalfi Coast which the author has actually visited, and it was so easy to fall into the culture and beautiful setting. Natalie is a wonderfully strong female MC, and I had a delightful time seeing the story through her eyes. The reno aspect was a nice touch and of course, it helps create a budding romance between her and one of the locals. There is some steam, but I was honestly expecting more so that was a pleasant surprise, and they were pretty quick scenes as well.
This was actually a bit longer than I was expecting it to be with the audiobook at just over 11 hours, but it goes by super quickly, and I thought everything about the story was a really refreshing take on your normal romance. Zuzu Robinson is a talented narrator, and I found the audio to be very enjoyable so I would fully recommend it to others. I did find the end to be a little abrupt and a tad confusing, so I might have missed something along the way, but it wasn't what I would have expected after going through everything that we did. That took my enjoyment of the book away just a touch, and it was lacking the emotion that I was hoping for. However, this was still a good solid summer read, and if you enjoy sweet romances that are set in gorgeous places, I would recommend it!

I can't be the only person who was mildly obsessed with the Netflix movie, FALLING INN LOVE, right? IT TAKES A VILLA is reminiscent of that movie in the best way. This is a sweet, heartwarming, and feel-good romance. Zuzu is a new to me narrator and I enjoyed her narration. While listening to this, you're transported to the Amalfi Coast, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

What a charming story. Perfect for this time of the year. I enjoyed getting to know Natalie and Pietro while they restored Natalie's villa in the imaginary idyllic town on the Amalfi coast. It is a slow-burn romance but with enough steam and drama incorporated. The main characters are strong and different but opposites attract right? I like how the author brought the story to us and every description of that place. I enjoyed reading it and will read the author's other work in the future

An abandoned villa on the Amalfi Coast on the market for $1 - would you buy it?
Natalie Malone, an actuary from Urbana, Illinois, takes on a risky investment and finds herself needing to rely on the sexy architect, Pietro Indelicato, to meet renovation deadlines. Natalie purchased Pensione Benone, an 18th-century classic Renaissance-style villa, with dreams of restoring it to its former glory. Unfortunately, the fine print on the contract set out by the Economic Development Council made finishing and owning the property very difficult.
I liked that the author didn’t portray Natalie as an American damsel in distress needing to be rescued by a sexy Italian. Natalie is capable, knows what she wants, and doesn’t allow a bump in the road to derail her plans. The sense of atmosphere was fabulous and I felt like I was sitting on the patio at Cafe Ludo enjoying a caffe con panna. I giggled at the chicken and I got frustrated when she was in the permit office. The family mystery, secrets, mysterious painting and lemon groves, cooking lessons, and rumours of mermaids held my attention.
However, what started out as a 5-star read, quickly plummeted. I became disappointed at the 54% mark when a sweet story that I’d become readily invested in turned crass and unnecessarily steamy. It’s unfortunate that assumptions are made that this is what sells a romance. It’s a turnoff, for many of us. If I’d wanted a story like this, I’d have picked up one with a risque half-clothed enraptured couple on the cover - you know what I’m talking about. The charming cover did not reflect the relationship or inner content. I felt this story could have also benefited from a dual timeline where we’d read Natalie’s nonna’s story. Sadly, the story failed to live up to my expectations and I finished feeling deceived.

She had once thought kissing straightforward— formulaic— then she experienced what Pietro could do with his tongue. Natalie was torn between wanting to be jealous of all the practice that had left him with skills like that and wanting to write personal thank-you notes to every woman who had contributed to his technique.

My Review:
This was an entertaining and relatable read with generous sprinkles of humor, a slowly developing new romance, gasp-worthy sensuality, observant insights, family drama, DIY renovations, gorgeous Italian sightseeing, and an interesting mystery. The writing had a smooth and easy-to-follow flow with taunting tidbits that teased my curiosity and kept me reading when the clock argued otherwise. The angst and contrived conflict levels were low, which is exactly how I like it. This was my second time reading her work and I find I enjoy Ms. Blade’s engaging writing style and liberal injections of humorous descriptions and amusing observations, which are some of the excellent reasons why she has been added to my list of favorites.

What a sweet and engaging blend of romance and women’s fiction.
Natalie Malone arrives in Italy to renovate an old pensione to its former B & B like glory. She has a plan, a budget, a contract, a deadline… and absolutely no experience. (Plus a bit of a personal side quest)
Pietro Indelicato, a local architect, clashes at first with Natalie. He has low expectations, exacting standards, high ideals and a strong love of his hometown.
It Takes A Villa is populated with diverse, interesting and awesome characters that along with the amazing scenic descriptions really make this story top notch.
It definitely takes a whole town to recreate a villa and it will take a villa to find an HEA for Natalie and Pietro.

Oh this book 😍, I loved it so much I didn’t want it to end! I wanted to climb into this story and experience it from the inside. Kilby’s descriptive imagery of the Amalfi Coast and the fictional town of Zavona are just so immersive it was like being there.
Beside the idilic setting, Natalie and Pietro are two dynamic characters to that are totally different. Natalie a hard working still grief stricken American has come to Italy to make a go at rehabbing and opening a villa as a B&B. Pietro is a swoony Italian architect and refurbishing expert and in true Italian fashion when he first meets Natalie he knows he wants her.
I loved everything about this story, strong independent Heroine in over her head with construction in a brand new place, hero who takes one look and it a goner for her, then tries to do everything he can sneakily to help her. The mystery with Natalie’s Gram and the Lemon groves and large Italian family. It was like taking my brain on an extra special vacation to my motherland and I was ready to go where ever Kilby was willing to take me.
Ok on to the other stuff, (that being the sexy stuff) the burn was slow with this one, also sweet and steamy, but the spice was only medium. Which I have come to expect with Kilby so I was prepared!
I loved to book so much a preordered it twice on purpose so that I can give a copy to my own Italian mama. I hope we get more stories from the Amalfi Coast!

You'll enjoy getting to know Natalie and Pietro. Life brings them together in Italy when she purchases a villa near the coast and begins a renovation. He's a local architect who steps in to help when she seems overrun with obstacles. This is a slow burn romance with no shortage of drama or steam. The townspeople were wonderful and helpful, but the town council not so much. This was a good read that I read as a complimentary advance copy via Net Galley and the author and I voluntarily chose to review it.

It Takes a Villa transports readers to the beautiful and unforgettable Amalfi Coast where Natalie has just gotten herself the deal of a lifetime. Armed with a 6-month renovation plan and a detailed spreadsheet, Natalie’s ready to make her dreams come true. However, with local architect, Pietro, watching her every move, things don’t go quite as planned.
It Takes a Villa pulled me in from the very first page. I loved the idea of this story and all of the complications that could arise from renovating in a foreign country. I thought the author did a really good job with her description of things and found it very easy to visualize everything.
I adored Natalie’s ambition. She was tough and didn’t let much knock her down. Pietro loves his hometown and will do whatever it takes to stop renovators from ruining his town. Together, I thought that Pietro and Natalie had some wonderful chemistry. I enjoyed the tension between the two of them. If I had any complaints it would be the slow-burning romance. I’m not the biggest fan of slow burns, but when done right, I really find them enjoyable. Unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me. In other words, the slow burn was too slow for this reader.
Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I enjoyed the setting, the renovation drama, and the intrigue along the way. The chemistry and tension between Pietro and Natalie was on point, but for me, the slow burn fell flat.

It was here, in Italy, that Natalie’s grandmother met and fell in love with her grandfather. Now, Natalie hopes to restore this abandoned and dilapidated villa to open her own B&B. The thing is, Natalie purchased the villa through the council’s restoration program, and there are specific stipulations and requirements - like how she must complete it in six months. Her first hurdle is a run-in with Pietro, the gorgeous architect that refuses to grant her the necessary building permit she needs. He and Natalie are definitely going to clash.

The blossoming romance between Natalie and Pietro was sweet with a bit of spice, but it’s filled with a lot of hiccups along the way. Grams and Natalie had a dream to go to Italy and buy a Villa. Grams lived in Italy years ago and that's where she met Natalie's Grandfather. Now both Grams and the Grandfather are gone and Natalie has decided to go to Italy and for a dollar she has brought a property with the intention that for it to become hers she has to fix it up in a certain amount of time. So she is determined to make that work.
Another part of the contract that she agrees to is that she will open a business to help bring life back to the little town where her property is located. She is determined to make this work and she meets Pietro who is on the Council for the project that she is part of.
I have not read anything by this author before but I will certainly be reading more of her books in the future. Once I started it I could not put it down. The story line and the characters are so well written that I could almost picture the Villa as it is being restored.

It Takes a Villa is a very slow burning romance.

Just complications created the havoc in her plan. As Natalie and Pietro work together, they cannot deny their attraction. The restoration becomes more and more challenging, Natalie realizes her funds are low and her dreams are at risk.
The trend in romance to write these HGTV based stories has an appeal, but I am not sure it is me. I loved the setting of Italy and all the fun that comes with that. The rehab creates its own outside angsty that does add depth to the story. I did struggle with the wordiness of the story. I felt like there was so much world building happening that at times it made the story feel stogy and lost some of its anticipation and luster of the romance. Nonna’s added story line add a lot to the feels of the book but it was not always enough to keep me engaged.
I think this is a romance more geared toward to sweet romance reader who wants to add a little more steam to their stories.

It Takes a Villa is a charming, uplifting tale that sweeps you away to the idyllic Amalfi Coast and into the life of the grief-stricken Natalie Monroe as she reluctantly leaves her current life behind and heads to Italy to honour the plans she made with her late grandmother to renovate an abandoned villa on a tight budget, a limited renovation window, and the unexpected help from a sexy Italian architect.
The writing is fluid and sweet. The characters are hardworking, helpful, and kind. And the plot is an enchanting mix of life, love, family, friendship, hopes, dreams, community, self-discovery, taking chances, and finding a place to call home.
Overall, It Takes a Villa is an amusing, refreshing, enjoyable treat by Blades that I thoroughly enjoyed and which, ultimately, reminded me that life is truly an adventure!

This is a fun story of an American woman who buys a villa on the Amalfi Coast in Italy for one Euro, and then has 6 months to renovate it to be a hotel. She's taken under the wing of one of the members of the development council of the village and a sweet romance ensues. I enjoyed the descriptions of the Italian life and food, and there's an interesting side plot of our heroine's grandmother's past. I found the temporary breakup in the romance seemed sort of off for me, and the ending was a bit abrupt, but otherwise it's a quick but satisfying read for those who dream of starting over in an Italian village. 3.5 stars

My only issue is with the spice. There were sometimes details and sometimes not. It didn’t seem to meet the standards of the rest of the book. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed my time reading this.

A sweet story about two interesting people, Natalie and Pietro. Natalie buys a villa in Italy intending to restore it and turn it into a hotel. After her arrival, she soon realizes that her task isn't an easy one. There are a lot of repairs to be done and apparently, everything in Italy works on its own schedule. Still, she is ready to work hard and do the best she can because living there was one of her grandmother's dreams.
Pietro is an architect who helps people restore their properties while staying true to their historic roots. When he meets Natalie, he is instantly attracted to her. He tries to find excuses to see her under the guise of helping her with restoration. Soon they become friends and then their friendship morphs into something more. But can they have a happy ending or is their story going to be a sad one? Read to find out.
This is a beautiful story set in picturesque locations. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to all romance lovers.

Take a 352 page vacation to Italy this summer! 🍋 🇮🇹
If you like descriptive writing, self-reliant leads, supportive and healthy relationships with supporting characters, as well as a sweet romance, It Takes a Villa is your book. This book takes place in Italy and does a wonderful job at transporting its readers to such a beautiful country. One of the most memorable aspects of this book for me was the residents of Zavona; Blades' characterization of the characters, from our leads to the side characters, helped to create a vivid picture in my mind. I loved the short but often sweet moments Natalie would have with shop owners or workers, namely the furniture shop owner and the Fiorello brothers. It made it feel as though we were getting to know the locals alongside Natalie. I also appreciated how the book was written in a dual, third person point of view.
It Takes a Villa started off a bit slowly as Natalie tried to settle in, and it wasn't until her first interaction with Pietro that I was fully drawn in. I feel as though the synopsis on Goodreads can be a bit misleading. (Minor spoilers ahead!) I was expecting at least a minor enemies-to-lovers from the descriptions of Pietro "critically watching her every move" and how he "reluctantly agrees to pitch in," but this was not really the case. In fact, Pietro seemed to be rather willing to help her once he (quickly) got over an early moment of frustration with his father. It was a surprise, but honestly, ended up being a welcome one. I really liked the supportive friendship and relationship between Pietro and Natalie. The dual point of view allowed us to see some very adorable thoughts from the two of them, especially Pietro. It was so cute to see how enamoured Pietro was with Natalie, and the things he said about her to himself was very endearing. Although, the ending of this book did feel a bit abrupt. I hadn't realized I was almost on the epilogue until... well, I was on the first page of the epilogue! There were some missing moments and conversations which I felt were built up towards, but were never truly addressed/resolved. It was nice to see a resolution of Natalie's family mystery though, albeit perhaps a tiny anti-climatic, and I do wish we got to see Pietro propose since it was mentioned enough times.
In regards to the more "steamy" scenes, this is a romance novel, so it should not be surprising there will be some in it. Frankly, I was even expecting the scenes to be more descriptive than they were. Compared to other books in this genre, the sex scenes in this book were very tame. Most of these moments received quick mentions/summaries, as well as the fade-to-black treatment. I do not think this a bad thing – many people prefer the fade-to-black.
Overall, I really enjoyed It Takes a Villa! I highlighted many romantic lines on my Kobo... I have many memorable quotes to refer back to when I want to relive this charming, sweet romance. 💕

August 12, 2022What a wonderful story! It combines armchair travel with a bit of family mystery, all in a region of Italy that I was able to visit last year. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Natalie has done what so many have thought of doing when seeing the advertisements for the $1 homes in Italy. We ask ourselves questions. Is it too good to be true? In some ways, because the rules for purchasing the homes are quite stringent, i.e., earnest money has to be put down and the updates/repairs have to be made within a specified amount of time which requires ready money to pay builders and contractors. Another thing to consider is timing as Natalie found out. Italy and much of Europe are on vacation typically for one full month in the Summer. Permits for the building have to be purchased and there are rules that must be abided by for some of the homes that have historical value to them. That historical value dictates the type of update that must be completed. This of course is just the minimum of what a buyer is signing up for when they purchase a $1 home, especially if they do not have the ability to do any of the work themselves.
Natalie is an intelligent, quick learner who can follow videos she has found on the internet. She had grand plans for purchasing one of the $1 with her grandmother. This property is not just a typical home. It was a much-beloved hotel in a city that is counting on these renovations to draw jobs and visitors to this beautiful region of the Amalfi Coast. The creation of jobs is also another requirement of the purchasers of these homes, so it does draw buyers with dreams of opening their own businesses also. Things really start going wrong for Natalie from the time she lands in Italy, some of which relate to not speaking Italian. Some of the property is in pretty good shape, but, there are things that require update that she is not prepared for either physically or financially.
She is lucky enough to start crossing paths with Pietro, who decides that Natalie needs help and he wants to ensure the renovations to the hotel bring the property back to the standards that are required. Pietro is very knowledgeable and he is also purchasing and renovating many of the properties in their town. Natalie does not want to accept help, but, as she meets others in the renovation program, she realizes that she is one of the few that are working alone and she needs help to meet the deadlines. Pietro, who is also part of the committee responsible for the renovation program, is also butting heads with others on the committee who are more concerned with bringing jobs, money, and people into the area than they are about the renovations being done properly. All of this makes for a great story with a sweet romance, not just between Natalie and Pietro, but, also between the reader and the Italian town on the Amalfi Coast. This book is one you won’t be able to put down! It features a sweet and charming romance, a journey of self discovery, building a new life and the joy of finding a community of people who feel like family. The setting is the beautiful Amalfi Coast of Italy, in a small fictional town of Zavona. The town has sold a variety of it’s run down and vacant buildings to foreigners for a pittance with the provision that a certain they have amount of funding, the building must be fully restored within six months, and the new owner is to start a business and stay in the town.
Natalie, an American, had initially planned to do the renovation of the villa, a former B & B of sorts, with her grandmother who spent part of her teenage years in the area, but after her recent death, Natalie is determined to see it through herself. Her grandmother’s medical bills had nearly derailed the plan, this dream, until an unclaimed inheritance of her grandmother’s came to light after her death. With no family left to hold her in place in the U.S., Natalie left her job, packed up her life, shipped a few precious belongings, and came to Italy to start life anew and to find out more about mysterious man who left her grandmother an inheritance so long ago. She never expected to meet Pietro, a handsome and oh so sexy architect who is at first terse and forbidding, then persistent and determined to help her with the renovations of the Villa and aid her in her research about the inheritance. Discovering kinship and support among the others involved in the restoration and development programme and among the townspeople is a blessing for Natalie who is feeling the hardship and grief of life with her grandmother. Her relationship with Pietro soon becomes much more intimate and complicated, showing her a passionate and sensual side of herself.
For Pietro, he has opened his heart to love again after many years of guarding it fiercely. He finds Natalie to be captivating, so determined to see the villa return to it’s former glory, so earnest and cautious about adhering to her budget and plans. Having vacationed in Positano on the Amalfi coast, I just fell in love with this story and all the scenery references, the sexy romance, and the lemons! And they are HUGE lemons! Kilby Blades takes us on an Italian adventure through the eyes of one American dreamer and a hot Italian architect.
Natalie acquires a neglected villa in the small town of Zavona on the Amalfi coast. She arrives awestruck that she was able to gain said villa for $1, but then the enormous task of renovation on her own is overwhelming. The deal she signed on to was cheap, but the property had to be completely up to code within 18 months or it goes back to the city. She and several other “fixer uppers” in the city begin to realize that maybe the task is too steep, and they are doomed to fail.
Enter Pietro, a gorgeous architect with the know-how to restore properties to their original beauty. He is also the mayor’s son and on the city council in charge of making sure the “fixer uppers” renovations up to their building codes. Pietro has some “daddy issues” to overcome as well as butting up against the council for almost making it impossible to complete the homeowner’s renovations on a timely basis. His ultimate goal is to reinvigorate his hometown of Zavona, delivering commerce and charm that will attract tourists and businesses alike.
Pietro was somewhat blindsided by the lovely American, Natalia, on her own trying to meet the challenges set up by the council. He starts to help her with some of her projects, spending lots of time at her place, inadvertently getting to know her. One thing leads to another, and they are naked in his family’s famous lemon grove having some sexy times under the starry night. Swoon! While a side story, Natalie is also looking for the Italian gentleman that left her grandmother the inheritance money she is using for the renovation. Pietro assists her and that ends up being a super interesting epilogue to this sweet story.
It Takes a Villa is everything you could wish for in an American meets hot Italian love story. The few obstacles that they overcome makes sense, but you still are wanting more of their together story. This is my first read from Ms. Blades and I am certainly interested in her other stories for sure. This book is the perfect read for this summer’s beach season. Ciao and enjoy!

🇮🇹❤️As I opened this book, the dedication the author left to her mother made me smile. I immediately knew this was going to be a very sweet and heartfelt book because of the personal connection. I was right.
🇮🇹❤️I may be biased, but I think there is something so magical and romantic about Italy. I met and fell in love with my husband in Italy, so this book was like revisiting an old friend and culture I dearly love. Enough about my background though☺️ “It Takes a Villa,” is exactly what you’d think it would be: A wonderful escape to Italy. It was filled with food, interesting characters, and beautiful scenery. Just a wonderful holiday escape.
🇮🇹❤️Our two main characters, Natalie and Pietro, meet while Natalie is in the local permit office. She is trying to get started on the renovation of her villa, but quickly learns the locals do things at a slower pace. It just so happens to be August, and this is the month when most businesses are closed for summer holiday. Natalie is in a redevelopment program where she’ll have six months to renovate her business and prove she can provide a profit to boost the economy of the town. She wants to turn her villa into a pensione (hotel). We get to see Natalie put everything she can into this project, and along the way fall in love with Pietro.
🇮🇹 ❤️This story has a diverse group of characters and they all want to help and support each other. By the end of the book, you’ll want to pack your bags for your own Italian getaway.
🇮🇹❤️This story is beautifully descriptive and paints such a lovely picture of the region. You can almost taste the limoncello and feel the ocean breezes while touring the city on a Vespa. If you enjoyed the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun,” and need a little vacation… then this book is the perfect summer read. You will get swept away if only for a few hours. Thank you @kilbyblades for this sweet and endearing book. The ending had me smiling, but I so wish there was an epilogue. That being said, I’m ready to read it again. 4.5/5 stars

A story set in a small, albeit fictional, Italian town?
Yes, please!
I’m a sucker for small town romances, but Italy is one of my favorite countries and was part of the lure that drew me to this book. That and the whole “$1” for a villa situation ~ because who hasn’t seen those ads?
And though there were part that did drag for me, and a bit of an abrupt (at least to me) ending, I enjoyed my time in Zavona with Natalie, Pietro and the eclectic group of people who we meet along the way.
I really liked Natalie and Pietro. Natalie is a dreamer, but a practical one. She isn’t afraid to put the time and work into getting done what needs to be done, but also has a bit of an issue asking for help. Pietro is honorable, though sometimes gruff and grumpy, but has a good heart and cares far deeper about things than most know.
Their journey to their HEA was quite interesting. They didn’t meet on the best of terms, but soon found that they shared a similar outlook on issues that mattered the most to them. It was fun to watch them become closer, thanks to the renovation and rehabilitation of the villa, and find out that not only was the physical attraction mutual, but that they connected on other levels.
As I said at the start, this was a fun read, but I will admit that there were times when the details about the renovation didn’t hold my interest. Also, that were a few situations that I wished had been fleshed out a bit more, especially that ending, but that’s a it’s not you, it’s me thing. As for the supporting cast of characters. Ellie and Carlota were my favorites, but I really liked the sognatori crew and how they all rallied around each other. So, if you want to take a bit of an Italian holiday at home and have a liking for HGTV DIY house things, then this is a book you should check out!

It Takes a Villa by Kirby Blades is a fun mix of contemporary romance leaning towards woman’s fiction. Natalie is determined to make a new life for herself in Italy. And the first step is to fix up the villa she purchased for $1. This is a type of program that I’ve seen run in several European areas, but I hadn’t seen it brought into play in a book before. The biggest catch is she only has a short period of time to complete the renovations. And there is a lot to do.
She is not the only person from the rebuilding program living in the area. She connects with a group of fellow re-builders from around the world. They were fun, supportive, and helped her navigate the first few confusing days in Italy. But she also finds herself relying on Pietra, a local man with a love for old buildings and restoration. And he’s quite the expert on how to get it done correctly.
I found Pietro’s conflict with his father – who seems to never really respect Pietro’s expertise – to be one of the most interesting parts of the story. The generational struggle and possible disappointment of not following where your parents thought you should go as an adult is a situation many can relate to. Natalie struggled mostly with repairing her villa in time to meet the program’s deadlines. And while I learned a bit about architecture, it just didn’t draw me in as much as Pietro.
There is plenty of drama, a little catastrophe, and lots of relationships being built. There were a couple of things that really threw me off. The first was the sudden change from what was reading as a fairly clean romance to a spicier romance. While I don’t have a problem with either, the tone of the book changed and it threw me off. The second was the ending. It just sort of stopped. The resolution was there, but then it just cut off and didn’t tell me the wrap-up. Which is one of my favorite parts.

It Takes a Villa check all the boxes for a must-read. This one gives you the feeling of traveling without leaving home.
The author did a fantastic job engaging the reader until the last page. The storyline was so realistic and enlightening, with the vivid imagery, political meetings, and the cast of characters all add to moving the story along.
Natalie risked it all for $1, a dream and vision of a property in need of TLC. Even though the odds were against her, she was determined not to fail. The care and passion are what drew Pietro to offer a helping hand. As they worked beside each other, I could see the finished project come to light.
I enjoyed how the author took care of showing us the details of the steps in each of the project's issues and progress. It was interesting to hear the different perspectives of Pietro and his father about the goals of the town's restoration projects and the obstacles those in the program faced.
The lessons in lemons and the Idelicato men's traditions were uniquely endearing and offered a love story within itself.

I was delighted to get an invite for the dry run opening of Pensione Malone. I found the stay delightful and the view of Pensione Malone and all its soundings breathtaking. It offered a
variety of great amenities making the visit feel like a home away from home.
The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and decorated with a sense of serenity that made for
peaceful relaxation.
If you get the opportunity to venture into the surrounding areas of Zavona, stop by some of the
local shops, and other newly renovated properties.
A must on your to-do list is a tour of the Indelicato Lemon Farm.
I hope to make the visit again.
I highly recommend this one for your reading pleasure. It is more than just an enjoyable read; it is a wonderful experience.
