Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri reveals Adrien Rabiot will miss the Old Lady’s clash against Sampdoria, while Mattia Perin will start.

The Bianconeri return to the pitch on Sunday at 11.30 UK time, hosting Roberto D’Aversa’s side at the Allianz Stadium.

“We must face this game by playing well and trying to make one step forward in the table, then we’ll think about Chelsea,” Allegri said at his pre-match press conference.

“We won the first game away and we must do the same at home, there will be changes because some players played 6-7 games in the last period.”

However, Allegri confirmed that Leonardo Bonucci will play while Mattia Perin will start in goal.

“Bonucci is an important player for this team, so he plays if he is fit. Ha may say to be tired, but when the game gets closer, he always feels well. I am happy about the four central defenders that I have.

“I don’t know if [Paulo] Dybala will start, while [Adrien] Rabiot will surely rest, because he picked up a knock to his ankle so he won’t be called up,” Allegri revealed.

“Federico Chiesa is feeling well and he can play both on the left and on the right, tomorrow we’ll see.”

The Old Lady secured the first win of their Serie A campaign away at Spezia on Wednesday. They have collected just five points from the opening five Serie A games, conceding eight goals in the process.

“I think Juventus will be able to concede fewer goals, we are defending well in our own half,” Allegri said.

“When things do not go well, the physical shape is always mentioned [by media]. Against Milan, we made many technical mistakes, so our opponents gained strength, you can’t only defend in football.

“We registered 25 shots on target against Spezia, we created a lot in the first half,” the coach continued.

“Locatelli is doing well, but don’t forget that he arrives from Sassuolo and it’s challenging to play with the Juventus jersey.

“The physical and mental effort required is different.”

Juventus will face Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday after their match against Sampdoria.

The Bianconeri had an excellent start to their European campaign beating Malmo 3-0 in their opening game of the season.

They visit Torino in the Turin derby before October’s international break.
