Cynicism is a philosophical tradition that existed for centuries in the ancient Graeco-Roman world. Its influence can be found throughout Western philosophy, and arguably up to the present day in the work of such protest groups as Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil. More controversially, some scholars believe that its influence can be found in the Christian Gospels. Was Jesus a Cynic?
