The Artemis Charitable Foundation
The Artemis Charitable Foundation manages our charitable activities and our involvement in the wider world.
Each year, Artemis gives a proportion of revenues to the Artemis Charitable Foundation. Established in 2007, it manages our charitable activities and our involvement in the wider world. Our staff and the trustees choose which charities will benefit.
The foundation supports ‘core’ charities in the UK and internationally in the areas of poverty, education and the environment and also makes donations to global disasters and emergencies when they occur.
We encourage our staff to get involved as much as possible through:
- Staff-nominated Charity of the Year and Cancer Charity of the Year
- Support for staff who are undertaking fundraising challenges
- Volunteering with our partner charities
- Charity trips overseas
- Give As You Earn matched funding
Annual review
In 2023, the Artemis Charitable Foundation donated over £890,000 to 130 charities and our Artemis staff raised over £200,000 through fundraising challenges. In another tough year for the charity sector, we are proud to have partnered with many extraordinary charities, providing both financial support and through the dedication of our staff who volunteer their time and skills to help causes close to their hearts.
What give us all particular heart is the quality of the organisations that we have long term relationships with. As an example, we have worked with Mary’s Meals for more than 13 years and have seen how it has increased its programme of school meals from 400,000 children a day to 2.5m today. Feed a child at school and they will come and learn.
Similarly, we have partnered with Shivia for the same number of years. It started out by supplying poultry toolkits in West Bengal and has developed several new initiatives to deliver positive outcomes for some of the poorest people on earth. The money generated from these toolkits gets used for the education of children, which is the long-term driver of prosperity.

We were particularly proud to win the Outstanding Community Contribution award at the Funds Europe Awards in 2021. It is a welcome acknowledgement that our staff and the Foundation engage so actively with the wider world and communities beyond fund management, and we have steadfastly continued our efforts since.
