This season, the NFL was hit with millions of dollars in fines, but the most absurd of them all was lifted.
Running back Breece Hall of the New York Jets was fined $43,709 for dropping his helmet to accept a challenge in a December game against the Atlanta Falcons. Hall claimed he was forced to protect his knees because he was coming off an ACL tear in his first season and didn’t really have much of an option.
The running back filed an appeal, and the league decided to waive the fine. Tom Pelissero wrote,
“Upon appeal, #Jets RB Breece Hall’s $43,709 fine has been rescinded for this play last month, per source,”

Breece should be grateful that the league took its time on that one.
