Julie Meyer, a former government adviser and celebrity entrepreneur, is the subject of a High Court arrest warrant after her failure to attend a series of court hearings over unpaid legal fees.

The warrant was issued after Meyer, 55, an American based in Switzerland, was given a six-month suspended prison sentence last month for contempt of court related to her failure to attend hearings and for breaches of court orders.

Mr Justice Kerr said that Meyer needed to be taught that “the court is not to be trifled with”.

He added: “A sentence of imprisonment is appropriate and necessary because the breach is deliberate, cynical and continuing and because, on the evidence before me, I am satisfied there is every prospect that the defendant will
