Safety warnings:
- No cheating
- No OW/OW drama
- Mention of murder/violence/abuse
- HEA

I don't have much to say about this book as I skimmed a lot of it and it took me too long to finish. I don't know why I couldn't get into the relationship between Emily and Mateo.

We got to see the previous couple navigate through a few things and issues.

The trial was annoying to read because the villain was manipulative and was able to accomplish so much even though they were guilty as hell.

The ending was also too abrupt for me.

I enjoyed this book but I wished it had been solely focused on Mateo and Emily’s story. I love Beau & Jane’s but their story felt complete to me in the previous book so they taking like half of this book was so unnecessary. And anway, this story felt so unfinished…what’s gonna happened to beau? Is he gonna recover? Did joe go to prison for real this time? Is Matoe’s acting career truly over? So many questions….sigh!

I said once, and i'm gonna say it again: I LOVE BEAU AND JANE !!
Skye Warren 'version of Jane Eyre is simply amazing, and i'm over the moon she wrote Hiding Places because I wasn’t ready to leave them go yet.

In this chapter we can get a glimpse of Beau, Jane, Emily and Paige's life while they get used to the new situation and they face the aftermath of Emily's brother doing and the trial.

To be honest I would have liked less doubts and drama between Beau and Jane (but I get where they come from) and I would have loved more scenes about Emily and Mateo.

Mateo has been the best surprise for me: in the previous chapters i didn’t really know what to think about him, but here he is caring, sweet, the man Emily needed.

The story itself is really good and definitely intriguing.
I just miss a long epilogue, but maybe it means we gonna get more about them in the future 🥺😍 ???

For those of you new to the Rochester world, I have to say it would be extremely beneficial to your enjoyment of this journey if you start at the beginning. This is not really a standalone. I mean it can be, but there is just too much background to the overall story that you’d be missing, and I just can’t recommend that. Do with that information what you will.

I, having read practically every word ever written by Skye Warren do know this world inside and out and eagerly jumped into it and had a fantastic reading experience! Skye still pulled from her word wizardry bag of tricks and kept me on my toes with this one! When will I get the better of this woman?! SHE GETS ME EVERY TIME! I loved that this story was multi-dimensional and had the perspective of not just Mateo and Emily, but also Beau & Jane! It was like extending Beau and Jane’s story into the future and adding more depth to characters we’d already met. I just loved it and hated to see it end!

I said this when I reviewed Behind Closed Doors, but its worth repeating, this story as well as that one opened up the Rochester world to the possibility of so much more with future secondary character stories and I am here for ALL OF IT!!

A spin off of the Rochester Series focusing on Emily Rochester and her life now. Can Emily find a new start to life? Maybe an old family acquaintance, Mateo Garza can help her out…or cause another scandal! This is a quick yet fun read for those that have read the previous books as this feels like an extra long extended epilogue to the series. We do also get more scenes with Jane and Beau. Told in multiple POV.

Beau and Jane are ready to begin their life together now that the threat to his niece Paige and her mother Emily is over however that is easier said than done.

Mateo is Beau’s best friend and has known Emily for years. He is determined to be there for Emily as she faces her past and fights for a future that includes him.

Suspense, angst and romance as these characters and their journey will captivate you once again.

Absolutely have fallen for Jane and Beau in this series. Their love and romantic relationship has been quite a story. Now that they had to return Paige to her mother Emily their lives have changed but their love stays strong. Emily coming back and reuniting with her daughter is the best thing. But she can't escape her past. It keeps coming back and putting her and Paige in danger. Mateo is Beau's best friend and one of Emily's classmates from all those years ago. Now he is around more trying to help and Emily needs to figure out if she can open her heart when her life is still in shambles.

I loved this story. We got more about Jane & Beau, and we finally get Emily, Paige, & Mateo. We see Jane deciding on colleges, and once again Beau doing anything to prove his love for her. Beau trying to keep Jane safe turned into his calling.

I love Paige! She’s so sweet, and she has everyone wrapped around her Monopoly game.

We had Joe’s court case. He caused everyone so much pain. Emily & Jane stood up for what is right, but those chapters killed me. I don’t think I would be that strong.

Emily & Mateo were angst too the max. He just wants to be near her. They were also off the chart on the steam factor. This was a great addition to this series! I want more of them all!

This was really two stories in one, a continuation of the previous books in the series that came before it. We get more Beau and Jane as they figure out how to live their lives together. We have Emily and Mateo as they switch from enemies to friends to lovers. We have more of the ever wonderful Paige, and I mean seriously, I want to read about this child all through her life and then again when she finds her HEA. We also have the trial going on, trying all these characters together. Like the previous books in the series, the stories are shrouded in mist and fog, not angsty, but dripping with emotions. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough and I wanted more!

Welcome back to Eben Cape and the world that Skye Warren created for us. This is the fourth book in this series and it’s exactly what we asked for.

We jump right back in to this world, Beau and Jane have moved into their new home, Emily and Paige are trying to make up for lost time and Mateo is trying to figure out where he belongs in this world. All of these characters are going through some growing pains as they try to work through their emotions while having to deal with the stresses of Joe’s trial.

Skye has given us a perfect addition to this series with this book. It’s a little dark, but that’s why we love this series. I do think you need to read this series in it’s entirety to achieve maximum enjoyment, but honestly that’s not a hardship at all.

Yass! I enjoyed seeing Jane and Beau after their story but Mateo and Emily stole the show. I have been wanting more and Skye Warren definitely delivers more and then some. It is intoxicating being back in this world. It was enjoyable from start to finish.

the timeline of this book was so weird because the epilogue in book 3 was past this one but then also not? idk the series was fine, but the pacing was so off and both “i love yous” felt like they happened way too soon. i know *time* has passed but i think the author could’ve done a much better job at the chronological details

What an unexpected and dreamy return to the Rochester world. I was super excited to revisit all of these characters since the Rochester Saga is my all time favorite world from Skye Warren. The gothic suspense, the sweeping romance, the twists, the literary inspiration, the erotic flair-it’s such a mesmerizing and atmospheric world, and I’m glad Skye gives us a story that both serves as an extending epilogue and gives some closure to two of the most charming and enigmatic secondary characters- Emily and Mateo.

I just adored every word of Jane and Rochester’s trilogy, and it was such a treat to revisit them in the aftermath of the series, making a life together and adjusting to their new reality without full-time parenting Paige. We get to see them both in their HEA bliss, a what a beautiful harmony and partnership they have, plus as events unfold with our new main characters, we also get a bit of return of the danger and uber protect Rochester. YUMMY.

And, we finally get to learn more about the formerly mysterious Emily and see her get her HEA at long last. Emily has been through quite a bit to engineer this new future for herself and her daughter, but with concerning events happening related to her being a witness in her brother’s trial and all the media scrutiny, she’s not quite yet in a peaceful happy bubble. Not to mention, Emily has real baggage and trauma from her past. So her initially turbulent attraction that blossomed long ago to Mateo is complicated - not only do they have history, but Mateo did not always trust her in the past. They have to find a new footing.

Emily ended up being a way more relatable and compelling heroine than I anticipated- like Mateo, I too had to relearn how to feel about her from the Rochester trilogy. But I admired her strength, and I loved her chemistry with Mateo. Oh Mateo- like swoon. He’s that dreamy HOllywood star, but is incredibly layered and thoughtful, well beyond his charismatic veneer. I loved how he was with her as she’s working through her ‘ish”- and I loved how he is with Paige.

Jane and Rochester still steal the show for me - but I just can’ resist them. SKye gives them a really interesting focus- as we see them grappling with some of the issues and questions they would have had if they didn’t have the whole giant dangerous mystery over their hands in their trilogy. Figuring out their direction, who to balance Jane’s youth with Rochester’s settledness, and my what a character transformation. I relished every Jane-Rochester moment. And I really loved how we find a happy symmetry with all four characters- and how Paige fits in all of their lives. They end up being one very functional and thoughtful family. I didn’t quite know I needed this return to the Rochester world, but I loved the closure in this fast paced, one sit read. Another reminder of just how much I loved these characters.

We finished the harrowing Rochester saga and now Beau and Jane are happy and together. Beau build a beautiful home for them, right next to the Charter House where they used to live until it burned down. Now that Emily has come back from hiding and re-built the Charter House, she’s living in it with Paige, and she’s very generously sharing her daughter with Beau and Jane who love her so much. Happy Paige is free and runs back and forth between the two houses, playing Monopoly and beating everyone at the game.

It was all happy until it turned scary. Emily is a witness at her brother’s trial, so she’s being persecuted by the press. Then events happen that bring fear into her and Beau and Jane and Mateo. Mateo arranges for protection from Liam North but the fear still lurks!

Mateo Garza, Beau’s best friend, is staying at Eben Cove for personal time from his Hollywood movie work. Initially he distrusted Emily and went against her in fear she would hurt Beau. They all had history when they were in high school. Once reassured she means no harm but to live in peace with her daughter, now he gave free reign to his attraction to her. But Emily is haunted by an abusive husband and a marriage that ended in tragedy.

The road to happily ever after is drenched in menaces, bodyguards, Joe’s trial which has an uncertain end, and Emily’s trauma. The story is riveting and fascinating as only Skye Warren can make it. I loved Beau’s turmoil as he loves Jane with a possessive fierceness but also anguishes at all she’s missing out of her youth. His constant give and take thoughts are fascinating to watch, as I can still remember what a jerk he was in the beginning. Now we can see he’s besieged by regret and such a generous love that is inspiring.

I felt for Emily and understood her trauma. I loved that despite her fear, she was always strong for her daughter and generous of her daughter’s time with Beau and Jane. I loved Mateo, found him kind and thoughtful. He befriended little Paige and was everything an uncle should be, spoiling and fun. He was attracted to Emily and was respectful of her trauma but also knew to push gently to get her into his arms. He’s a perfect book boyfriend!

While I felt that Emily’s and Mateo’s story ended beautifully, I felt that that some plot lines regarding Beau didn’t conclude satisfactory. I hope this means we’ll get another story or another epilogue because Beau and Jane’s story within this book didn’t feel complete. We can only hope and pray for another Rochester book!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Jane and Beau have returned Paige to her mother. They don't have his niece to take care of anymore. Who are they without their former roles? A man. A woman. And a love that forges a new path for them.
Emily Rochester is done keeping secrets. the shadows in her marriage are written in black and white. It's about speaking her truth. But when her quiet memoir becomes a media sensation, there's no hiding from her past. Or her future. The memoir brings up dark memories. And dangerous enemies. Someone wants Emily silence. that means Page is in danger again. Beau and Jane's'hard-won peace is threatened by the very force that brought them together.

I love spending time in the Rochester world and here we get to go there again and I was so stinking excited to read this book. The time has come for Jane and Beau to return Paige to her mother. She is safe now and these two are going to have to figure out who they are together without Paige around. Which, might be an adventure they never expected. Beau, after all is a man who does anything in his power to prove his love for Jane. Jane is deciding between colleges and what she wants to do and Beau just wants to keep her safe. It is his mission in life after all. If you have been reading this series you already love Paige but your going to fall even more in love with her during this book. I loved seeing Emily, and Mateo as well. I have missed all these characters. There are some chapters that are going to rip your heart out because we get to see Joe's court case. He is a man who has caused so much pain, and Emily and Jane really stand up for what is right and what they believe in and I was a mess reading this part of the book. Then we have Emily and Mateo. He just wants to be around her all the time and she and he are going to light your world up like the fourth of July. I could go on and one about this book but that might make me tell you a spoiler and I don't want to do this. If you love this world as much as I do then you are going to love this book and need it in your life right this second.

Once again we are back in the Rochester world together with Beau, Jane, Page, her mother Emily and Mateo Garza who is Beau's best friend and Emily's sworn enemy because he is everything she hates in a man. He is rich, handsome, gorgeous and famous.

Hiding Places by Skye Warren is the 4th book in the Rochester series, it's a spin off and a complete standalone, BUT if you want to know what is happening in the Rochester world you have to start from the beginning which is Private Property where we meet the main characters Beau and his niece Page and her new nanny Jane.

In this 4th book ( I hope it won't be the last in this series because we obviously need much more of Beau and Jane ) we see that the life of Beau and Jane is finally going well they live happily together in the new home Beau built for them, Page is reunited with her mom and now she lives in the Charter House which is built again after it was completely burned down. Page haven't stooped seeing her uncle Beau and Jane but one day Emily is a witness to her brother's trial and the ghosts from the past are lurking from the shadows and threaten to ruin their life. Emily has to swallow her pride and put it to the side so she will ask for help from Mateo Garza the rich and gorgeous playboy which she hates but slowly he starts to gain Emily's trust and gets close to her step by step.

This story is filled with lots of passion, lots of steam and with lots of angst. Mateo finally shows off how sweet and caring he is and he will do anything to be a part of Emily's life together with her daughter Paige. They end up from enemies to friends at first, then to lovers.

I love everything that is happening here in this world created by my favorite author Skye Warren and I feel kinda jealous because of Jane having the love of this possessive alpha hero Beau Rochester.

This is my 5 star read for the year ahead. Check this series and start from the beginning.

When we thought we were finished with this series, along comes a fourth book, a spin off taking us on a journey after all the dust had settled, even when it hadn’t. We knew that Emily was back in Cape Eben, she’s been reunited safely with her daughter and she’s trying to rebuild her life. She’s got a house, and she’s writing the story of her life, all while her brother awaits trial for the murder of her husband.

On the other side of the story, we watch how Beau and Jane’s relationship evolves. He feels like she needs to live the life that a college age person should. attending whatever school she wants, living on campus, going to classes, making friends. But he also wants her around all the time. Jane on the other hand never expected to be able to go to college and wants to spend her time with Beau so it’s a struggle of a dynamic with them.

We watch as she tries to find her footing in the new world, trying to make choices that work for her and for Beau, while also trying to navigate the insanity of the murder trial since she was thrown into it when Joe went after her in one of the previous books.

It’s a roller coaster. We watch as the relationship we knew of grows. We watch as a new one unfolds between Emily and Mateo – a man that grew up with them, that was never on her radar in that sense, but a man that is a successful Hollywood actor, a man who’s goal in life is to protect and a man who’s wanted Emily since high school. Watching the level of trust and security there grow is one of the best parts of this story and then seeing how the entire dynamic shifts as a result is even better.

When lies are spun by Joe and the law, when people’s lives are put in danger and security is hired. When protection isn’t enough and someone is kidnapped – we start to see who’s on the right side of things, both in relationships and the law.

All in all not a long story by any means, but an intense and sweet way to wrap up things that have gone on.

I've been looking forward to reading this book ever since reading the initial Rochester trilogy, as I really wanted to see Mateo and Emily get together. I know Skye did release this on another platform originally, but for some reason I just never got around to reading it on there. So, when I found out she was releasing it as a completed book, I was excited.

I won't lie though - whilst I did enjoy reading this and seeing more of all the characters/on going story... I was a little disappointed because I thought this was solely going to be focused on Mateo and Emily.

Instead, we get multiple POV's as we also see more from Beau and Jane. Which I didn't necessarily mind but it did mean that we didn't quite get the same in depth view of Mateo and Emily falling in love like I was expecting to. Also, in the first 3 books, it seems that they have more of an enemies-to-lovers vibe, but in this, whilst Emily alludes to it a few times, it never felt like that and I was looking forward to that aspect.

Overall, this was still a good book though and it was nice to see more development of the murder trial and how all the characters lives were affected after the ending of book three. Plus, I loved seeing more of Paige because she was just so adorable! And also a little cameo from Liam North. 3.8* from me.

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

*TW: Please heed any trigger warnings the author may have noted.

HP is book 4 in The Rochester series. I would highly recommend reading the original trilogy first, before this, for a better reading experience. Those books must be read in order.

Overall Grade: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Skye Warren’s Hiding Places begins where her Best Kept Secret, the final book of her Rochester trilogy, left off: with Jane and Beau reveling in their happy ending. This story invites us into their life post-Emily revelation and as Jane determines where she intends her life to continue. Hiding Places weaves the points of view of Beau, Jane, Emily, and Mateo. Beau struggles with his undying love for Jane and his concern that he is derailing her plans. Jane juggles her love for Beau and connection to Paige with her future college plans. Of the two, Jane seems the most settled in her decision whereas Beau berates himself as her aged paramour. Their story is placed in contrast to Emily’s involvement in her brother’s court case and her burgeoning interest in Mateo, Beau’s best friend and a successful movie actor. Each chapter reveals each character’s struggles in the specter of the trial and the future.

I will never say no to an update from readers’ favorite characters. Warren continuously surprises her readers with epilogues and short scenes to allow us back into her favorite worlds. And I enjoyed catching up with Jane and Beau while being enticed by Emily and Mateo’s growing love story. However, Hiding Places reads a bit messy as Warren tells two stories, vacillating between the two. I ended this book unsatisfied. It simply ended with lots of questions about all four characters. While I enjoy returning to the characters’ stories, I would have loved separate spaces for these two couples. I know that Hiding Places was initially intended for Kindle Vella, and I wonder if it should have remained there with Warren adding to it until both couples’ stories reached fulfillment.

Again, I will always love Skye Warren’s capacity for developing worlds of stories, but I think Hiding Places needed a bit more…and I hate leaving a world feeling unfulfilled.

Kindle Unlimited: No
Stand-alone: No
Author: Skye Warren
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️
Spiciness Rating: 3/5 🌶
POV: First Person Quadruple Perspective
Main Couple: Emily and Mateo with Beau and Jane
Trope(s): Protector, Forced Proximity, Dark

Hiding Places is part of the Rochester Trilogy. I would recommend reading Beau and Jane’s story first because having all the information will make understanding, following, and loving these characters all the more delicious. I was expecting to revisit with Jane and Beau, but I wasn’t expecting Emily and Matteo’s POV to be such a pivotal part of the storyline. Skye has just deepened my obsession with this series by adding this book.

We pick up where Best Kept Secret left us. The new normal where Paige and Emily live in Coach House and Beau and Jane build their dream house just across the way. Jane is trying to figure out college. Beau is trying to figure out how to handle giving her that space. Emily is struggling with the notoriety that has come with her brother Joe’s trial and the memoir she is in the middle of writing. Matteo is dealing with feelings for Emily he wasn’t expecting. And, Paige is well Paige. Our lovable Monopoly loving young girl excited to have her mother home and her family all around.

This book gives us closure. But, not tied in a big red bow. Nope, Skye makes us work for it.

This story was the perfect addition to the Rochester Trilogy by Sky Warren, I couldn't put it down!

I'm the kind of person that when I love a story I always ask for more and this is what the book was about. Skye Warren has giving us more of Beau and Jane but also gave us a sweet treat with Emily and Mateo and of course more of sweet little Paige.

If you were wondering what happen to Emily's brother after he is apprehend, you get all of that here plus all the tension, drama and rollercoaster of emotion that his trail is causing to Emily but also how is affecting everyone around her.

I think Mateo was a grate addition to the story I didn't see coming but I definitely approve. He was sweet, charming and protective over Emily and Paige, he most certain score a ten in my book.

And of course Jane and Beau were amazing together. We see some of the struggles us a couple they are facing but we also see the unity and love they have for each other.

And like always the ending left me wanting more!

Emily Rochester is ALIVE and WELL and back in Maine living with her daughter Paige while living next door to Beau Rochester, her brother-in-Law and his girlfriend Jane Mendoza, the nanny and you would think and hope ALL is well now BUT we all know that isn’t the case !!

Emily and Jane are testifying against Emily’s brother Joe and it looks like the press and locals all think he isn’t a dirty police office BUT what do they know .. they weren’t kidnapped, killed, threatened or abused BUT what does the family know …. Throw a best friend, actor and lover into the mix and you have Mateo Garza that will steal your HEART !! He just wants everything to be OK .. just simply OK !!

Yes that is a lot of BUT’s BUT there a lot of if and’s and buts and emotions and love in this Rochester installment !! Love of two friends .. wants and needs of two others and the LOVE of one little innocent girl !! Oh and lets not forget Disneyland in PARIS !!

You will laugh, scream and cry in this installment too BUT you will have hope and defeat also. This family loves hard and lives softly !!

Hiding Places

This story was absolutely delicious in every way. It was more all the way! Beau finally gets his girlfriend. Even though he is older than she is, he has finally won her heart. He built a new house on the cliff just past the coach house where Emily and Paige live now. The trail started against Joe, Emily's brother for him killing Rhn, her husband. That's why she ran to protect herself from her husband's abuse and watching Joe kill him. It all comes to a end for the trail was a mistrial and the let Joe go on the street. He goes after everyone who testified again him and tries to take revenge on them. He ends up shooting Beau and Beau fights him back. Joe's in the hospital and is under arrest once again. What will happen next? Loved reading this authors books, so exciting in every way! Enjoy!!

More Jane & Beau Romance!!

This will mean a lot more if you read the prior stories in the series. Jane met Beau when she was hired to nanny for his niece. Lots of action late – Jane and Beau are in love, and the niece Paige is back with her mom – and living next store. Beau is about 15 years older than Jane. With Beau footing the bill , Jane is returning to college. Decisions about which college and whether to live on campus or not become the big problems of the day.

A murder trial from the earlier action negatively impacts all. Paparazzi and others require full-time security. Emotional, danger-filled, romantic and entertaining story.

***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****

Hiding Places is part of the Rochester series and it gives us an insight into what happens around the court Case of Joe, a cop and Emily Rochester's brother. What I loved about this book was Mateo and Emily's story. He always intrigued me in the first three books and it was nice to see his softer side. The feelings and the love that he fought, the way that he did just about anything to be with Emily had me swooning over him. Beau and Jane's story also gave us the protective side of Beau but also we saw just how much he truly loves Jane and the fact that he wants her to live the life that she dreamed of.
Once again Paige makes you laugh and love the fact that she has had so much happen to her but is always smiling and laughing.

This return to the Rochester world… is stunning.

Jane and Beau are together and have built a home right near where Paige and her mother Emily. Jane may miss being with Paige all day every day, but is still able to have her near.

We learn much more about Emily here, and her story proves how strong and resilient she is. Beaus friend Mateo is in Eben Cove for some personal time. Although he viewed Emily as a possible threat to Beau, he finds himself attracted to the woman… who is wary and guarded due to her past abuse.

What an amazing story, and addition to this series of books. If you need more proof of how good a writer Skye Warren is, this book is it. I loved reading it, and knowing more about all of these characters! I want more. Always.
