Dragons of the Week: Womens Varsity 8+ and Men's Varsity 8+

PHILADELPHIA - Men's Varsity 8+ of men's rowing and Women's Varsity 8+ of women's rowing have been named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week from May 6 - May 12.
On Saturday, men's rowing won the men's title for the third consecutive year at the 85th Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta. Varsity 8+ captured their third straight victory in the V8+ race becoming the first team to do so in 23 years at the Regatta. The team of Chloe Minicucci (Coxswain), Josh Diggons (Stroke), Nikola Loncar, Jack Anderson, Damian Lis, James Schmidt, Andrew Manns, John Little, and Andrei Malis (Bow) crossed at a time of 5:52.474 in Lois Krall III.
At the 85th Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta, the women's Varsity 8+ earned gold to help Drexel win the overall points championship. The team of Chloe Speciale (Coxswain), Julianna Rogers (Stroke), Kira Tracy, Taylor Powell, Mollie Knoff, Kayla Driscoll, Rita Keefer, Ariana Townsend, and Sarah Ghazaz (Bow) in Cara Fry finished with a time of 6:54.010, just under a full boat ahead of Fordham.
