Former Rufftown Records signee, Ray James, has revealed that leaving the record label would’ve been a year earlier than he did if his reason for leaving was truly that Bullet did not have time for him like people are insinuating.
Talking to the award-winning show host, Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show which is aired on eTV Ghana, he disclosed that there were certain things that were happening amongst the team that he did not like, hence his decision to leave.
Questioned on what these things were, he explained, “It was about two people on the label fighting or having misunderstandings and he dragged me into the whole thing. I don’t want controversies and such things around my career and I always want people to focus on my music so I just decided to leave”.

Foster further asked him why he did not choose the settle the issue amicably rather than deciding to leave the label to which Ray replied, “The way the whole thing happened, I just felt that wasn’t the right place for me so I had to leave”.
Ray James noted that if there is going to be any amicable settling of the issue, that might be done later, however, at this moment, he believes the best decision to make is leaving the record label just like he has done.
According to him, if he CEO of the company, Bullet, who is supposed to see to it that there is peace and understanding between everyone under the label is rather dragging an innocent person into other people’s issues, then he had no place staying with that record label.
