Community Reuse Grant

Grant Overview  

The New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (NYSAR3) is now accepting applications for the Community Reuse Grants! These grants, supported by the Center for Sustainable Materials Management (CSMM), are awarded through a competitive application process designed to provide a limited number of awards to organizations in New York State.

This year, CSMM will provide up to a total of $15,000 for projects that focus on reuse. Each awardee will receive up to $5,000 to fund their project. Winners will also receive a complimentary one-year NYSAR3 membership.

Projects must meet the criteria listed below. 

Grant Eligibility:

  • Applications will be accepted from community-based groupsmunicipalitiesbusinessespartnerships, and non-profit organizations in New York State.
  • The focus of this grant is reuse. Applications for projects that on recycling or composting efforts will not be considered.
  • All questions must be answered, and a budget provided to considered.
  • As NYSAR3 already provides College and Green Schools grants, K-12 schools and colleges are not eligible for this grant. For more information regarding these grants, visit our Grants page. 
  • If you are a reuse organization that partners with a college or university at the end of the year to facilitate student move out, please refer to the application for the College Council Grant, not this application. (College Council Grant is for colleges/universities that are members of the College Council)
  • Applications must be received no later than August 30, 11:59 p.m.
