The Ministry of Health held a virtual Press Conference at 11am this morning (Monday 29th November 2021) to update the public on the latest developments with COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago. Below are the key points discussed today, courtesy of TTT Live Online: - Minister of Health, Terrence Deylasingh, announced that the Government is currently working on launching a COVID-19 booster program for the public. - Principal Medical Officer of Institutions, Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, stated that 90.9% of persons in the parallel healthcare system are not fully vaccinated and that occupancy in the system stands at 70%. - Dr. Richards also indicated that ninety (90) persons in Accident & Emergency in the traditional healthcare system are currently being treated for COVID-19 across the country. Twenty-one (21) of those patients are receiving Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care — none of these persons are fully vaccinated.
