2021-2022 Season:
For the 2021-2022 season, “This Week” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54, leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press” to take the top for the first time in 7 years — since the 2014-2015 season. In addition, “This Week” beat CBS’ “Face the Nation” by its largest Adults 25-54 lead in 22 years — since 1999-2000 season.
“This Week” led NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers the season for the first time in 8 years, with its largest lead in 25 years — since the 2013-2014 and the 1996-1997 seasons, respectively. In addition, “This Week” cut its Total Viewers season margin with “Face the Nation” by 24% (259,000 vs. 343,000) to its smallest gap in 12 years — since the 2009-2010 season.
During the 2021-2022 season, “This Week” The show featured headliner interviews from anchor George Stephanopoulos with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and co-anchor Jonathan Karl with Rep. Liz Cheney (R) in Wyoming. The show earned an Emmy® nomination for its Jan. 6 coverage. The show also traveled across the world and country for broadcasts anchored by Martha Raddatz from Lviv, Ukraine and London, England.
3rd Quarter 2022:
ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” won the 3rd Quarter 2022 in Adults 25-54 (508,000), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” ranked No. 1 during the 3rd quarter for the first time in 7 years – since 3Q15. Overall, “This Week” ranked as the No. 1 Sunday public affairs program in Adults 25-54 for the fourth quarter in a row – since 4Q21.
“This Week” outdelivered NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Adults 25-54 by its largest quarter margin in 7 years – since 3Q15.
In addition, “This Week” outperformed NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers during a 3rd quarter for the first time in 8 years – since 3Q14. Further, “This Week” beat the NBC program by its largest Total Viewer margin (+271,000) during any quarter in 25 years – 3Q97.
“This Week” slashed its Total Viewers margin with “Face the Nation” from the previous quarter (-66% - 99,000 vs. 293,000 for 2Q22) and the year-ago quarter (-73% - 66,000 vs. 293,000 for 3Q21) to its smallest gap in 3 years — since 3Q19, respectively.
“This Week” improved on the previous quarter in Total Viewers by 4% (2.621 million vs. 2.519 million for 2Q22), standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow its overall audience.
Sept. 18, 2022:
“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” averaged 2.569 million Total Viewers and 517,000 Adults 25-54 on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” in in both measures.
“This Week” posted week-to-week increases in Total Viewers (+11% - 2.569 million vs. 2.315 million) and Adults 25-54 (+9% - 517,000 vs. 474,000).
George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
