You can control when exactly the product should be available for purchase or shipping by defining the availability date. You don't need to wait and lose your sales as it allows you to sell the product when it's out of stock. Alternatively you can showcase the product on your website when it's not available yet so customers are aware of the upcoming items and will come back later to buy it.

Strongly recommend this app for the coming soon button however the pre order element, has been devastating- it places orders on hold within Shopify with no clear built in feature to remove them - we had to build a custom flow which i believe is only on shopify plus, and does not sync inventory - we have had thousands of orders now oversold due to this app, please proceed with caution on the pre order element, like i said the coming soon button works excellent - the pre- order element, I strongly suggest being very careful.
Support is horrible. They will never respond to support requests. I think they just leave this app up without updating it.
Stop gaslighting as well. We opened a support ticket through the application, and also sent an email directly to your support email you list on the application page.

I have a question before installing this app. Is the 'coming-soon' label pre-set or can this be changed to anything I want it to be, within reason?

You can change the text as you wish. There is an option in the app admin panel to add a custom text for coming soon products and pre-order products. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need any assistance.
