Ingredients
Croque Madame Baguette Boat
- 1 large baguette
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 12 slices ham, thinly sliced
- 6 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
Cheese Sauce
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded gruyere
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- salt and pepper, to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the baguette in half horizontally. Cut 6 evenly spaced 3-inch holes in the top half of the baguette.
