this novella had me swooning, smiling and had my heart racing. When I started it I couldn’t put it down. The story of Beau and Savannah is gripping, emotional and pulls on your heart strings. It’s got romance, a little bit of spice, thrilling twists and turns that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. If you love small town thrilling romances then this is definitely for you.
Behind the ties is the 5th book in the home in Carson series by Renee harless. This is a fast paced romantic suspense. It has our two leads, Savannah the Vet from Baltimore escaping to Carson for safety a small town she use to spends summers at when she was younger. Savannah I wasn’t sure I was going to like at the beginning of the book, but after reading about why she escaped to Carson I could understand her a lot better. Savannah I thought was sweet, kind, fun and I loved her confidence. Then there is Beau the handsome dark haired Thor. Beau was kind, caring and a perfect gentleman, he was a little less alpha than I’m use to but more than made up for that with those spicy scenes! Overall I did enjoy the story, it is a very fast paced book so some parts of the story happens off the pages and you’re told after. I don’t feel like I missed any of the story this way but more selfishly wish it was a bit longer so I got more of the two characters. If you’re looking for a sweet quick romance with some suspense this is for you.
Savannah is a vet running away from dark people that wants her not to do her job. She finds a hiding place in Carson, a little town where her grandfather has a vet clinic. One night she gets an injured dog and the guy that brings her in, Beau, is everything Savannah needed but never knew. This was a cute story with some real swoony moments, from stargazing to cooking together Savannah and Beau are amazing together. He’s a blue collar hero and I’m here for it. All big, strong and hot. This story was entertaining even though Savannah had to endure quite a bit of pain from the people trying to silencing her.
Behind the Ties is a run for your life, heart racing, look over your shoulder, can I trust him romance filled with so many emotions and when trouble finally comes calling Beau prays he can get to Savannah in time. Loved it!!!
Who doesn’t love broody, rough around the edge alphas who are all soft and squishy in the center? This story grabbed me from the get go. The insta connection between Beau and Savannah, sizzling heat and the drama that ensues make this one you don’t want to miss. Plus you get to take a trip back to Carson and revisit with old friends. It’s a win win for me and I’m sure it will be for you as well.
Savannah Monroe chose the perfect small town to escape to where she could make new friends and forget about the life she left behind. Carson, NC has welcomed many newcomers and Savannah hoped that she could keep a low profile while working at her grandfather’s veterinary practice. When Beau came knocking at her door with an injured dog she quickly took over, while innocently checking out the handsome stranger. Now was not the time for romance but it was hard not to fall for Beau when she witnessed how gentle and loving he was with the dog who he named Belle, after he adopted her.
Savannah and Beau are a special couple whose chemistry was off the charts. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Beau took Savannah to gaze upon the stars in the night sky. It was so romantic! Beau was smitten with her brilliant mind, her beauty and her compassion she has for all animals. They both had decisions to make when it came to what path in life to take next. Beau wants to leave Carson and Savannah wants all her problems concerning her old job to go away. Savannah was concerned that her mere presence in Carson would bring harm to her friends and she briefly considered running away again, but Beau had other ideas. He would protect her at all costs, no matter what he had to do. The Carson series always mixes romance with a little mystery to keep us guessing, and we are always guaranteed a happy ending.
This read was one that was intense from page one, because when we are introduced to Savannah she is immediately faced with an emergency. This emergency has her face to face with Beau, but because of recent events that have her hiding out in Carson leads them to not meeting on nice terms and preconceived notions. Beau is immediately entranced by Savannah’s beauty, but he knows that her strength and heart is so much more. As these two spend more time getting to know each other there is an undeniable chemistry, yet they both have no intentions of having a small-town life. Can something come from their attraction and turn into more or will their questionable futures hold them back? Also, those after Savannah what happens if they don’t stop looking for her and try to put a stop to her? This book was such a great because you have a lot of suspense from the start, a small town that takes care of its people, and a steamy smart man in Beau.
Loved every minute of this quick, intriguing, heartfelt, spicy read. This book starts with a storyline that includes animals special a hurt dog. Boo hoo about the injury but I love when animals are part of a good story.
It has this backstory of intrigue that has me on the edge of my seat. Yikes our poor heroine is a risk. Enough said on that. You just have to read this book to get the nail biting details.
OMG our hero is so freaking hot, I can’t stand it. He checks all the boxes. Yum. He is a good hardworking guy that is an awesome friend. Swoon.
The later half on this book either had my heart beating out of my chest with anxiety or fanning myself with some panty melting interactions. Ok I won’t say more other than I really like this book.
This is a great small town , romance suspense story. Renee does a great job of keeping you on the edge of your seat while reading.
Savannah has come to town, for a short time, while things cool off at her job. She is quickly welcomed into town but is always looking over her shoulder.
Beau is currently a mechanic but doesn’t intend to stick around the small town. His first interaction with Savannah has him very interested .
There is an instant attraction, angsty moments and sizzling heat with these two. Beau quickly becomes a fierce protector and Savannah’s let’s down her guard and begins to trust Beau.
The towns people are amazing and always have each other’s backs.
I received a complimentary copy and I am leaving my honest review.
Firstly I’d like to say how much I like returning to Carson and revisiting old friends. I’m also so glad to be getting Beau’s story finally. He so deserves a HEA. This was a wonderful read and Beau and Savannah had amazing chemistry from the beginning. This was a quick, action packed suspenseful read and my only problem was that I thought the ending was a bit rushed. Beau did compensate for this as he was so swoony. I loved the connection between him and Savannah... especially how it plays out in the end. Great read.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
A great small town romance along with the action of a suspense book. Savannah who's wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember was only doing her job to bad for her doing it by the book meant stepping on the wrong toes. While hiding in plain sight we meet Beau handsome, kind, and a friend to animals. It also doesn't hurt he's super smart and knows that right people. So come grab a copy enjoy the race to see if Beau can make it to Savannah before the bad guys do.. 💜💜💜 I have voluntarily left this review.
Behind the ties a new small town romance by Renee Harless.
Savannah is on the run from some bad people. Hiding out and filling in for her grandfather at his veterinarian clinic while he is away for a holiday. She thought she would be safe for a while. Beau meets Savannah when he brings an injured dog to the clinic. The attraction is immediate. This book was gripping. I read it in one sitting I couldn't help myself. I loved Beau. He was super sweet.
Another great Carson book. After having issues in Baltimore, Savannah moves her life to Carson as a temporary solution, she needed to get away, and her grandfather needed her to take over his veterinary practice while he goes on vacation. Let’s face it… moving to Carson is never temporary… In comes Beau, a local mechanic who needs Savannah’s help. Instant attraction builds up. A steamy relationship starts. A few bad guys come into the picture.
How could you not love a man who comes to the rescue of an animal? I loved that Beau and Savannah met saving Belle's life. I loved that Beau also gave Belle a home. I loved that he was patient and was Savannah's protector, all in the need to make her feel safe. I also loved that they had much in common, but was waiting for the two to fall for that Carson charm. I love the suspense in this series and the fact that the town not only becomes like family, but a community police station of sorts.
Shorter read with plenty of heart and seggsy scenes. Throw in a little suspense and you have Savannah and Beau’s story. Love that Beau is considered blue collar but worth so much more and can recognize how amazing Savannah is. Made my heart beat pretty fast at the end but glad everyone gets their HEA!
Behind the Ties by Renee Harless Ok so yeah Beau! I mean am I right holy hotness. I enjoyed everything about Beau. The chemistry between him and Savanna was super hot. This book was really good it will have your attention from the start. It is a small town romance with some suspense thrown in there and that makes it so good. Definitely should be a must read.
This small town romance will make your heart swoon. Beau only ever wanted to leave small town life. Savannah was on the run. Together these two found the home they had always been looking for.
This was a really sweet story that had all the best bits. Bad guys, hero, small town......what more could you want. I absolutely loved this, it was a quick and very enjoyable read. I only wish there was more.
Sweet, endearing and will have you loving each moment of the book. Loved the characters and how the story is written. The situations wil have you reading non stop and wondering what will happen next Definitely a must read.
I really am bummed that this series is coming to an end. Savanna and Beau are a great way to say so long. Not goodbye because the residents of Carson always seem to make it into Renee's books.
If you haven't read the rest of the Carson books, make sure to grab them. You won't be disappointed.
I am so in love with Beau. He is just one scrumptious man. The chemistry between him and Savannah was combustible. This was an awesome addition to the series.
What a sweet read! I’m not usually one for small town romances but this on hit the spot. It’s sweet but also keeps you on edge waiting to see what happens based off of Savannah’s past. Would definitely recommend!
I really enjoyed this book. The story flowed nicely which turned into a really quick read for me. I like how both the characters are slightly haunted by the past and how they try to negotiate the future. There is a wee bit of suspense woven through. There's also the small town everyone knows everyone feel which led to some laughs and I feel that moments.
Right from the get go I was smitten with Beau. This small town suspenseful romance was kindle gripping, heart-stopping goodness. It had a great amount of steam and the chemistry between Beau and Savannah was great. It was a quick read and very enjoyable.
