About this event

Chief executives and their direct reports have faced unprecedented challenges in steering their local authorities through the prolonged and enduring stages of the pandemic. This event will provide a safe space to take stock and reflect on what we’ve been through and look forward to the future.

The LGC Summit gives our audience a chance to share ideas and insights, to develop fresh initiatives to address the challenges they face. Thus, allowing for group thinking to help overcome some of the issues at hand.

This is one of the year’s most prestigious events and is an invitation only, complimentary event for council chief executives and their direct reports (including overnight accommodation.)

The critical areas facing councils today will considered in depth during the event, including:

  • Ensuring economic prosperity: bringing in a new era for town centres and operating collaboratively across the local economy
  • Harnessing the power of engaged and empowered communities and looking at new modes of governance
  • The legacy of Covid – how the NHS and social care can cope with the unmet needs within mental health and physical health
  • The workforce of the future – debating the challenges of leading and motivating distanced and remote teams
  • Climate change: leading the climate change and sustainability agenda within your area
  • Funding and levelling up: how councils can make the most of funding opportunities to withstand financial pressures
  • Performance and struggling councils: recognising when things are going wrong and what needs to be done to turn them round
  • Personal resilience and wellbeing: looking inwards to ensure we have the strength and determination to keep calm and carry on.

Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you. Please do not book your travel arrangements until your place has been confirmed.

This event is made possible by the generosity of our sponsors, who also contribute to the programme. We therefore ask that you commit to attending the whole summit from Wednesday late afternoon to Thursday late afternoon.
