All porn is bad for your sex life no matter what, so stop it, says study

According to Willoughby, men — especially those who are religious — were the most affected by porn

Scientists want us to come — to our senses.

People who watch pornography are more likely to have lower relationship stability — and therefore a deficit of carnal satisfaction — in relationships, according to a new study published in the Journal of Sex Research.

Researchers at Utah’s Brigham Young University investigated 3,500 people who were in committed relationships, asking about their porn habits and the happiness of their partners.

“Couples should know that viewing pornography is a risk factor in their relationship,” the study’s lead author, Brian J. Willoughby, a professor at the Mormon university’s School of Family Life, told local news outlet KSL.

And he isn’t just talking hardcore: “It’s not just aggressive pornography that leads to negative outcomes,” Willoughby said.

Out of the 3,500 people surveyed, 72% identified as heterosexual, 17% as homosexual and 11% as bisexual.

Fifty-five percent of the participants were on their first marriage, 23% were cohabitating, 12% were remarried and 2% were in an open relationship.
