Leander ISD is excited to announce Alexandra Peoples as principal of Grandview Hills Elementary School after the Board approved the hiring at Thursday’s meeting.

“I’m excited to announce Alexandra Peoples as the new principal of Grandview Hills Elementary. With a strong International Baccalaureate (IB) program background, both as a teacher and a leader, she will be an asset in supporting and sustaining a quality IB program centered around action-driven, inquiry-based learning,” Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D., said. “Alexandra has already proved her ability to lead as the interim principal at Grandview Hills for the past several weeks. Her dedication to educational excellence, the well-being of students, staff, and families, and the establishment of a culture of learning will ensure the continued success of the Grandview Hills family.”

Peoples has served most recently as the interim principal at Grandview Hills and as an assistant principal at Plain Elementary School. She came to LISD from Spicewood Elementary School in Round Rock ISD, where she began her educational career as a first-grade teacher, eventually working her way up to the role of assistant principal.

“I am deeply honored to serve as the principal of Grandview Hills Elementary, and I am eager to lead a community dedicated to cultivating an environment in which a passion for learning and student action is prioritized,” Peoples said. “Together, we will recognize and foster the boundless potential within each student where curiosity thrives, and the dreams of our soaring Eagles take flight.”

Peoples received her Bachelor of Science: EC-6 ESL Generalist degree from Texas State University and completed a Master of Educational Leadership degree with a program focus in Social Justice, also through Texas State. She is also a graduate of LISD’s Prospective Principal Program. Currently, Peoples is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at Lamar University.
