Twenty years ago I had the best night of my life. He was a musician passing through town and I was the naive college student who fell for his charm. We talked for hours, he made my body come alive, and in the early morning when he left, he promised to call.

Spoiler alert. He never did.

Wilder was the first man to show me fairytales or happily ever afters don’t exist. Every man I’ve loved since has only confirmed it.

I’m tired of giving my heart away and being met with disappointment. I need a break from everything. Which is how I end up in the Arizona mountains on a two week vacation.

The last person I expect to see in this small town is him.

Wilder.

It doesn’t matter that decades have passed or that his face is devoid of the smile burned into my memory, I’d recognize this man anywhere.

Only, he doesn’t remember me. Not when he’s kind of an ass, and not when he follows me out to my car to apologize, and especially not when he offers to take me to dinner.

I should say no. Hell, I should tell him to get lost. But instead, I give him my number . . . along with a fake name. There’s no harm in having a little fun. Besides, it’s not as if I’m going to fall in love. Only a fool would make that mistake twice.

Wild Love is the next standalone in the Wilder Valley series. This one night stand, missed connections, second chance romance is a modern twist on the Cinderella fairytale and features a couple in their forties finding love in a small town.

The guitar playing? The singing? So good and so beautiful 😭.

Wild Love is the third book in the Wilder Valley series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Wild and Simone met when they were young adults. She was a college student and he was a musician, just passing through. But they spent a night together, and Simone thought they had a genuine connection. She gave him her number, but he never called. Fast forward twenty years, and both Simone and Wilder are back in Wilder Valley. Simone recognizes him instantly, but he doesn’t recognize her. And yet, he still has an undeniable attraction toward her.

Simone and Wild have truly gone through a lot during their time apart. And they’re both back in the small town of Wild Valley for different reasons, but they both find healing there. They have such amazing chemistry, just like they did twenty years ago, despite Wild not knowing Simone is “the girl.”

This book is packed with emotion. Wild, he was a little broken, and life got a little harder for him when he discovered something. There was also something heartbreaking that happened to him, and I just felt so bad for him.

I’m glad that Kacey gave us a reason he never reached out to Simone all those years ago. It was nearing the end, and I thought she wouldn’t tell us!

Audio: 5 stars
Narrators: Robert Hatchet and Maxine Mitchell
Style: Dual

Robert stole the show with his singing. I normally listen to audiobooks at a fast speed, but I listened to the guitar and singing part at “normal” speed. And the emotion Robert put into the song paired with the guitar playing and the lyrics? 🥺😭. It was so beautiful. The guitar playing wasn’t just some random put together music, it was an original performed by Joe Montone. And there are two, I repeat TWO songs. Maxine did great as well with her performance as Simone.

This book is SO good! Wild love is a story that takes us to the original meeting, time passes, and the second chance. It is the third book in the series, but it is not necessary to read the first two, but this reader recommends them.

I was pulled into the story immediately. You will run through all your emotions before the end, but it is worth it. I loved Simone's growth and Wild’s resiliency. How the two complement each other and work through everything in their lives makes them stronger without losing their dreams.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Simone met Wild when they were in their 20s and had a one-night stand. Wild was on his path to be a rockstar while Simone is just struggling with life. They promise to keep seeing each other, but unfortunately, Simone never heard from Wild ever since. 20+ years later, Simone who is now a cancer survivor is drowning in her work, so her boss forces her to go on holiday. The last thing she expected to happen was to meet the man that she had never forgotten all those years ago….

Wild Love is the third book of this series but can be read as a standalone. In this one, we follow Tim Wilder, who prefers to go by Wild, the prodigal son who left town to be a rockstar and had a very volatile relationship with his dad. Having read the other books, and knowing the dad, I was wondering what happened, as from Wild’s POV, he portrays his dad as a horrible father, and now that he suffers from dementia he starts to reveal what’s really happening.

Life had not been kind to Tim, not only did he fail to be a star, lost the woman he loved, and now he’s losing his cousin to cancer. It’s heartbreaking to see what he went through, and what made him to be the jaded grumpy man that he is now. Simone is no better off, her boyfriend left her for another woman while she was battling her cancer. So the chance of them meeting again after all these years seems too good to be true. Only Tim doesn’t recognize her, with how different she looks complete with pink hair.

The plot is quite predictable, but I enjoy it nonetheless. They have sizzling chemistry, and this book is definitely steamier and I love it! The fact that they are in their 40s, went through so much in life, and agree to be child-free (by choice or not) is very relatable, and I appreciate that. If you are a fan of any of these trope, I think you will enjoy this, I recommend this.

I love this audio! Robert has done an exceptional job in this series, and this one is no exception. Maxine Mitchell has always been one of my favorite female narrators, and she did such a good job portraying Simone as a strong yet vulnerable woman. And did I mention that we get some singing in this? Like full-on tracks with beautiful voices and stunning guitar performances by Joe Montone! This was a top-quality audio and I highly recommend it!

Wild Love by Kacey Shea takes us through a heartbreaking journey of finding love. Wilder and Simone has an epic love story spread across years. This story delivers perfect second chance romance angst. The emotions are heavy but at the end, there is healing and redemption.

✔️Time jump of 23 years between part I and Part II
✔️ Strong yet vulnerable heroine
✔️ ex rockstar hero with emotional baggage
✔️ small town romance
✔️ grief, cancer and mental health issues representation
✔️ grumpy sunshine

When Simone accepted her boss' s offer of two weeks vacation at their luxurious cabin in Wilder Valley, she never ever expected to clash with her past. Wilder is the guy who gave her a magical night and then disappeared, breaking her heart. This Wilder is far from the c0cky charming musician she remembers. His dreams have failed. He is here to take care of his cousin during his last days of cancer. He isn't happy to back to the town that hold a lot of bitterness. He doesn't recognize Simone with her pink hair & tattoo. He asks her out and she doesn't refuse because there is still something between them. But what about when her truth comes out?

I don't get to read many stories with mature couple. Simone is 43 and Wilder is 45 when part 2 starts. Simone has grown a lot as a person. She has overcome the heartbreak from Wild's disappearing act. She has won a battle with her own cancer. She is smart and confident and hardworking. She works for a famous record label and has gotten over a lot of issues about her body. But she still feel vulnerable. She doesn't feel herself good enough to be lovable and attractive and wanted. Her recent relationship disaster wrecked a bit of the confidence she gathered all these years. That's one of the reason she didn't give up her true identity. She wanted to know this Wilder. Without their past. Wilder is even more messed up. He is the family black ship. He always had a strenuous relationship with his father and felt himself a misfit among his siblings. But his cousin Will saved him when he was in depth of depression all those years ago and he means a lot to Wilder. His heart is a chaotic place. But Simone made it a lot calmer. He fell head over heels with this sexy and sassy and amazing woman. They knew it's a vacation fling but slowly it became more. My heart breaks for Wilder. He is really struggling with his grief and loss and the heartaching secrets those just came out. It's undeniable that he is a good guy but has been dealt bad hands. His anger and pain made him push Simone away when her true identity came out. But soon he realised his anger was misplaced and Simone is his soulmate. That's why they feel this deep connection even after so many years. Their chemistry was scorching hot. It took all the heartache and angst for them to find their happily ever after.

PS there is a perfect explanation why Wild never reached out after that night when he said he would.

Wilder and his band are trying to promote their concert that evening in the local mall in Fresno. Meeting Simone was a moment that stopped himself in his tracks. Instant chemistry sparked to the perfect one night stand.

23 years later, Simone a cancer survivor is trying to be successful as the accountant for an up and coming recording company. Her boss offers Simone her cabin in the mountains of AZ for a 2 week vacation and Simone takes the offer.

Wilder finds out his uncle’s cancer is back and he heads back to his hometown to help him in his hardware store.

Simone gets lost in the small town so she stops at the local hardware store and asks for direction. The man behind the counter doesn’t even look up and is a total jerk. She snaps back and he finally looks up and she freaks out. Seeing the same eyes that she thinks about all these years later looking back at her. Wilder doesn’t recognize her but apologizes and offers to bring her to dinner as a sorry gesture. She gives in.

Wilder doesn’t know it’s Simone because she states her name is Jennifer, she now has pink hair and tattoos. Day after Day, they spend time together. Dinners, hook ups, laughing and a lot of talking. Opening up about their struggles. Simone wants to tell him the truth but is scared of the rejection again.

The narration by Robert Hatchet was so good! He sings in this the book and he did great!!! Maxine Mitchell always does a phenomenal job. She can do an amazing male voice.

This book with give you ALL the feels! Warning, there are triggers in this book like cancer, Alzheimer’s and even death. I finished in one day because I could not put it down. It starts out in the “past” then you go to present day. I don’t want to give anything more away but if you read the other books you get a taste of previous characters also. You will not be disappointed in this book. The wait was so worth it!

Absolutely loved this book. I received this book as an ARC not realizing it was the 3rd book in the series, which didn’t matter as it doesn’t seem to affect the story at all.

Loved the second chance romance between Simone and Wild. Not only did you get to grow with them and see the struggles they both had but you got to see them realize that maybe everything happens for a reason and that even when you miss an opportunity if it was meant to be then it’ll come back around.

I was happy to see that this was an older age book because you don’t see to many books out there with an older couple unless it’s an age gap story. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

holy smokes

This woman can write some damn spice. And just something about the characters being older and more mature makes this the absolute best. This second Chance had all the feels and it was just so good. I couldn’t put it down. I wish I could read it again already. Cannot wait for the final book in this series already

Wild love is book 3 in the Wilder Valley series and might just be my favorite so far. This book follows a young Wilder and Simone who share one emotionally packed night together. Flash forward 23 years for a story filled with grumpy sunshine, second chances, cancer and mental health reps and so much more. I will be not so patiently counting down the days until Wild Crush releases.

I listened to this as an audio book and really loved the quality of the narrators. They were easy to understand at any speed and did a great job bringing the true emotions to each character.

An Exceptional, Beautifully Moving Story & Listen🎧

Wild Love
Wilder Valley
By: Kacey Shea
Narrated by: Maxine Mitchell, Robert Hatchet

Wow, just wow, this story blew me away like no other, captivated my attention completely, and nothing else around me mattered except what was happening in the book. And my heart, and what this story did to my heart, Kacey Shea not only put her characters thru the wringer to get to their HEA, but she put my heart thru it, too. This is an emotionally moving story, one with ups-and-downs, a story of love, loss, life and second chances, a story that is not to be missed because there is so much to love about it. Tim “Wild” Wilder and his bandmates were driving around in a van performing in bars and clubs, waiting to be discovered. Wild was passing out flyers for their show when he saw her, the one who felt drawn to and needed to get to know, Simone. He hoped she would come to the show that night and while she missed the show she still came after and the two had a steamy and memorable night together. He left with her number and a promise to call, but he broke that promise and her heart. Fast forward twenty-three years later and neither of their lives are where they imagined them to be when they were in their twenties. Simone is freshly out of a failed relationship where her ex moved on and is getting married and had the gall to invite her. But she got her accounting degree and is a cancer survivor, and she took a chance working for a new company, a record label. She has been working there for two years and basically did everything on her own, after hearing about her ex, her boss suggested she take a two-week vacation and offered her cabin in Wilder Valley. After getting lost she made it back to town to ask for directions and that is when she saw him, the man she could not forget, Wild. Wild lives in California writing music for other artists, his band never made it and life was not always easy for him. When he gets a call from his closest relative, his cousin Will, whose cancer returned, he knew he had to go to him. He was in his cousin’s hardware store helping him out when she came in, he was rude and abrupt before he even looked up, but Will called him out on it. He felt bad and then asked her out, Simone was not happy that he did not recognize her, so she gave him a bogus name and agreed to the date. The chemistry between these two is hotter than ever, and while her appearance changed a lot from when she was twenty, and it still surprised her he did not recognize her and she also wondered why he never called, but as days go by, it gets harder for her to tell him who she really is, which may came back to bite her. I loved how everything played out in this book, and as always, the writing, plot and world building are phenomenal, as are the character growth and development. The story covers some heavy topics, including cancer and mental health, and it is all kept real and heartfelt and meaningful. There is family drama for Wild, secrets uncovered, a touch of angst, some heartrending moments, lots of emotions and some steamy romance. Kacey Shea, thank you for another beautiful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchett are fantastic at what they do and deliver outstanding performance of bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each a voice that is fitting and was believable in every role they played. Mitchell’s Simone was perfection, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her vulnerabilities to her strength and determination. Hatchett was perfectly swoon worthy, a rock star in his own rights, and his singing, oh my, a real treat to your ears. Both were equally amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance enhances this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

What an Amazing story !!
I think this is one of the best second chance romances I have really enjoyed in a long time...Because this book stole my heart completely,it was so emotinal and just perfect.
I listened to the audiobook of Wild Love which is narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchet and WOW They are Superb at portraying these characters.Their voices were compelling and expressed all the emotions that the characters went through, and I hung on everyword written by Kacey Shea, and Maxine and Robert's voice,as they drew me into the book and the romance of this story.
I loved listening to them, they did an excellent job.
Wild Love deals with some heavy topics like cancer and depression and it broke my heart at times,as these are issues that we can all relate to or have experienced in life.
This book is in two parts of when Wild and Simone meet and then a time jump to when they reconnect years later.
Young Wild is in a band and he connects with Simone as their band plays one night...They have a dream of a time together and have one passionate night. But part ways.. Although that night is never forgotten by both of them.
Its is 23 years later before they reunite unexpectedly again...they have both changed so much that Wild does not recognise Simone.
Wild's band never made it big he was now taking care of his cousin during his cousin's cancer fight...which I think humbles Wild he is no longer the self assured rockstar he once was.
Simone is thriving in her career and she physically looks so different different coloured hair tattoos so much so that Wild does not recognise her when they bump into eachother in a hardware store.
Simone is not happy that Wild has forgotten her and she gives him a false name to say who she is,which could end up biting her in the butt eventually.
Simone works for a record company in LA and is on vacation staying at her bosses cabin and this is were she meets Wild again.
Its not that Wild has forgotten Simone its that she looks so different that she may as well be a different person...But as they spend time togehter getting to know one another the secrets between them become bigger and when revealed could blow their new found relationship into oblivion.
I Loved Simone and Wild and their romance is one I won't forget because it made me cry and I was swept away by the story and the excellent narration.Picturing these characters and feeling what they felt was so easy because of the skills of Kacey Shea's writing and the talents of Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchet's voice acting.
Wild Love is a thoroughly entertaining, sweet emotional and steamy romance and a perfect read or listen for those of you who love second chance stories that give you all the feels.
I absolutely adored it.
Breathtaking and outstanding 5 Stars.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
Narrated by: Maxine Mitchell, Robert Hatchet
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Performance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️/ 5

This is the third book in the Wilder Valley series and the first book I’ve read by this author. It's a second chance romance that started out as a one-night stand. Wild and Simone meet in a mall where Wild is handing out flyers for his show. He’s a 23-year-old musician, touring with his band, trying to make it big. Simone is a 20-year-old college student. They meet up after the show and spend the night together. In the morning his band is moving on to their next location so she gives him her number and he promises to call. They promise to figure out how to explore what’s between them, despite the distance. But then he never calls. Fast forward 23 years, they bump into each other in his hometown, where they’re both visiting for a few weeks. He doesn’t recognise her but she does. She feels awkward about it so she gives him a fake name. He asks her out and they start a holiday romance. But he still doesn’t know who she is…

This book is heartbreaking but also uplifting and heart warming. This is a great story of how, things can come together for you when you least expect it. That even if your life doesn’t turn out the way you planned/ hoped for in your 20s and 30s, it’s still possible. It’s never too late to find love and achieve your dreams.

This book discusses some heavy topics like cancer, mental health challenges, toxic relationship with a parent grief, and dementia, and I think they were handled very well. I love how Wild and his siblings rallied to support their cousin in his time of need; how they supported each other. I love to see strong female friendships that last decades. And the support Simone’s best friend shows her through out the book is just beautiful. I also love to see women support women in the workplace and Simone’s boss is a great example of that.

The chemistry between Wilder and Simone is so hot. They have an instant connection, but it’s not just physical. Even though they only spend one night together, by the end of the night we can all feel the potential for it to develop into a great love. It even pains them to part ways. And when they meet again after more than 20 years, it’s still the same. The build up of their romance is sweet and steamy. The spice in this book is a great example of “consent is sexy”. There is a third act break up, but it made sense for the story. the build up to it was natural and expected, not just thrown in to create conflict. There’s a bit of a twist at the end where family secrets are revealed and it added some more excitement to the story.

I loved the narration of this really good. Robert Hatchet and Maxine Mitchell did a great job of portraying the main characters at different ages. There are a lot of emotional moments in this story and the narrators really make us feel what the characters are feeling. I even teared up a few times. Wild sings a couple of songs in this story and we get a treat of Rob singing with accompanying guitar music. That was a really nice surprise and a very good reason to choose the audiobook over the ebook/ paperback.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It’s such a beautiful story.

AUDIO REVIEW
Narrated BY Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchett.
Robert is slowly becoming my favourite Narrator. He really brought Wilder alive with all those raw emotions and those husky Spicy moments. I loved it.
This is my favourite one in the series. It's another love found later on in life story. I guess it does make sense as they are trying to match the time line.
Wilder is the eldest brother and he never really fitted in. Left to find fame in music and price his father wrong by being successful. In his early 20's as he was trying to get gigs in different towns he met Simone. They really felt their connections and it was pure passion. They have one night together of love making and just talking, finding out about each other. Then he needed to leave next day. He took her number, they both knew this was more. Unfortunately he never called. Both looked for each other but never found them.
So 20 years later fate brings them together in his hometown.
But Wilder doesn't recognise her, rightfully but Simone wasn't happy. So when he does ask her out after being rude and grumpy, she gives him a fake name.
Just like before Wilder is getting those familiar feelings. She thinks he forgot but he never forgot her.
I felt sorry for Wilder, he really was going through the worst times. Losing his best friend and cousin to Cancer, finding out a huge secret and then finding out the girl he is falling for lied to him and has made a mockery of their emotions.
Simone did get a bit irritating, she had so many chances to be honest but kept making excuses.
For a day where his life has been turned upside down and then to find out the woman you're falling for has been lying, can Wilder forgive her and make a go of things? All I will say that day doesn't get much better.
It was truly a very emotional story. Please read triggers as we experience him coping with losing his cousin and how his cousin is experiencing things too. A story about loss, love, finding oneself, believing in fate and a lot of spice. This one was definitely more Steamy than the other 2 books.
It was written with so much care and knowledge, Kacey did an amazing job handling a sensitive issue. I think somewhere along life we all have faced this awful illness with a loved one.
I am so intrigued by their sister. I wonder if she is next.

5 Stars ... I think my heart broke!

This author sure knows how to rip your heart out of your chest, slap it around a little and then tries to put it back. Even though I did laugh at times in this book ... I mostly cried. For Wild and how his father treated him when he was young and not having his dream realized. For Simone to live through cancer only to have her boyfriend break her heart. For Wild's cousin Will as he lives his last days. The banter between the characters flows so easily especially between the Wilder siblings. It also deals with everyday situations and brings home the fact that most people live one day at a time. I love this Wilder family and I can't wait for the last two siblings stories - Maeve and Jackson. Even though each book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the series from the beginning ... you won't regret it!

Simone and Wild shared one night together when they were in their early twenties. Simone was a college student and Wild was playing gigs with his band hoping for that big record deal. Over twenty years later Simone is still single and working at the Detour Record label when her boss insists she takes a well-deserve holiday at their cabin in Wilder Valley. When she stops to get directions to the cabin, she is shocked when she comes face-to-face with Wild. She is heartbroken, as Wild has no clue who she is. Sure she's changed, but she guesses that night wasn't as memorable to him as it was to her.

Wild hasn't been home in years. In fact, he's only been home a handful of times since he left right after high school, But when his cousin and best friend Will, asks him to come home and help him put his affairs in order before cancer takes him ... Wild can't say no. He hates being back in his home town, but when a beauty with pink hair strolls into town, his cousin insists he take her for dinner and have some fun. Wild feels a connection with her, but knows it will end when her holiday is over in two weeks.

What a lovely listen. Some people are just destined to be together. Wild and Simone are two such people. This book will take you on a beautiful and sometimes emotional journey that will leave you with the biggest feeling of contentment. A must listen!

Wild and Simone have a chance meeting; one wild night of connection and fun. Then he never calls.
Fast forward 23 years, and Wild isn’t as Simone remembered and in her haste gives him a different name. I think you can see the house of cards starting to wobble. But she has a good reason. Just like he did for never calling.
Through the reconnection we get to experience so much about this couple. Their pasts. Their reasonings. What makes them tick. But that connection they share is what made it really special for me. The way they found each other again and after a little hiccup held on tight. And yes, the spice was spicing!

It was great to check in with some previous characters of Kacey’s too!

Robert Hatchet and Maxine Mitchell were fantastic in this story. They fitted the characters so well. Rob as Wild, the young rockstar, and later the guy that just couldn’t cut a break. Maxine as Simone, a young college student, and later a strong woman, who knew what she wanted but got herself into a bind to get it. The way both of them portrayed the youthful innocence in part one and then for part two flipped it on its head and portrayed those same characters with the effects that life had on them. It was truly fantastic to listen to. I think this might be my favourite Maxine Mitchell audiobook to date.

There is great representation in this book for dementia, generational trauma, non-children families, depression, cancer - both terminal and overcoming.

The only con for me was that although I enjoyed the addition of the guitar for a couple of the songs, it did overpower Rob’s voice a little and make the lyrics not always clear. But it was not enough of an issue/ distraction to effect the overall enjoyment or rating of the book.

I’m not going to lie. I was a little skeptical going into Wild Love. It’s the third book in the Wilder Valley series. I really enjoyed the first book. I was less enthusiastic about the second. It’s not because the writing isn’t good, it’s just that the stories in the first two books are so similar. When I saw this was another story about a 20 year gap between the main characters, I was prepared to be underwhelmed. I. Was. Wrong. Wild Love is now my favorite of the entire series so far.

Simone is shopping with her friend at the mall when Wild hands her a flyer promoting his band’s show that night. Both Simone and Wild feel an inexplicable pull towards each other from that first meeting. Simone throws caution to the wind and decides to show up that night. What follows is a night of connection and raw passion. Simone is devastated when she never hears from Wild again.

Twenty-three years later, Simone finds herself as a cancer survivor and thriving professionally, but her personal life is lacking. When her ex has the nerve to send her a wedding invitation to his wedding with the woman he left her for, Simone’s boss insists she take a two week vacation and stay at her cabin in Wilder Valley. Simone pulls into the hardware store to get directions and is shocked to discover the grumpy man manning the counter is none other than the man who walked out of her life more than 20 years ago and never looked back.

The last place Wild wants to be is Wilder Valley. But when his cousin and best friend calls him back because he is dying, Wild doesn’t hesitate to come home. Wild doesn’t recognize Simone when he rudely tries to brush her off at the hardware store. At Will’s insistence, he apologizes and asks her to dinner.

Wild Love is an emotional tale of grief, survival, and forgiveness. I got sucked into this story from page one and finished the book in mere hours.

Wild Love (Wilder Valley) by Kacey Shea is a rockstar story about a guitar-playing singer whose band did not make it big. To make a living, Wild a name he now goes by as he left his life in Wilder Valley in northern Arizona behind to chase his dreams even if they never came to pass. Wild settled in LA, where he made a living by collaborating with artists on various record labels to write lyrics and music. Twenty- three years after leaving his home, Wild returns to his hometown when his cousin Will tells him that his cancer has returned and that his time is limited. Returning home sets Wild up to cross paths with the same woman he spent the night with in Fresno when his band still played gigs. He had never reconnected with her nor her with him. Neither ever forgot about that night as their “one magical time together.” Simone runs into Wild at a local hardware store she ducked into to ask directions to the vacation house her boss set her up to stay in for two weeks in Wilder Valley. Simone is surprised to see him, but Wild does not recognize her, given her altered appearance of brightly colored hair and tattoos. He is rude to her. Wild was so disrespectful that his cousin sent him outside to apologize to her. As Wild gives a sincere apology, he asks her out. Simone is upset that after all these years of never hearing from Wild and him not recognizing her, she gives him her former college roommate’s name, Jenn, and not her own. Wild Love is their love story of reconnecting amid the family drama, dealing with losing a loved one, and each wanting a different future. Kacey Shea’s Wild Love is a captivating read that is also being released in an audiobook narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchet. I had a sneak peek of the audiobook, which exceeded all my expectations by being a fascinating listen and elicited all the emotions written into the story by Kacey Shea. I highly recommend the audiobook and the book Wild Love by Kacey Shea.

I really love the Wilder Valley series from Kacey Shea, and I was so excited to be back in this world again in Wild Love! It's a small-town, second-chance romance delight, that I absolutely enjoyed...and is so far my favorite of the series!

Wilder and Simone spent one hot night together many years ago and had that instant connection between them and hoped to stay in touch, but things didn't work out the way they had hoped. Fast forward twenty-three years, and during a vacation to Arizona, Simone walks into a store and gets the surprise of her life. Wild is there and she recognizes him, but he doesn't recognize her - and is a total jerk to her. When he goes to apologize, she gives him a fake name...and when he asks her out, she gives him a fake name (of her best friend)...and things take off from there. She still doesn't reveal her true identity right away...and the more time that passes, the more difficult it becomes for her to share the truth with him until it inadvertently comes out at an inopportune time.

There is also quite an emotional component to the story, with the reason as to why Wilder is home after all these years, that packs quite the punch...but it also helps to mend the reasons why he's stayed away all these years and provides some much-needed healing for Wilder.

I'm really glad I was able to listen to this one in audio because I could just feel the connection between Wilder and Simone even more because hearing the characters be brought to life by the amazing Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchet... these two brought this story to a whole new level. You could feel the emotion oozing out of both of them that connected you to the story and the characters. And then the songs...even if you don't listen to audiobooks, you need this one, just so you can hear those beautiful lyrics being sung by Robert Hatchet.

Highly recommend this beautiful and emotional love story! And I'll be looking forward to the next trip to Wilder Valley!

Audiobook Review
Grab the tissues! Wild Love is a raw and passionate love story. Wild and Simone’s love story had me laughing, crying, and swooning.
The two meet in their twenties when Wild’s band is playing in Simone’s college town. Wild is instantly attracted to Simone. The two hit it off, and share a special night with each other. Despite giving Wild her number, Simone doesn’t hear from him. Jumping forward twenty years, after learning his cousin has terminal cancer Wild immediately returns to his hometown of Wilder Valley to be there for his cousin during his final days. It just so happens that Simone is in Wilder Valley too, shutting herself off from the world after receiving a wedding invitation to her exes wedding. The two meet again, but will secrets and lies keep these two apart?

This was my first time reading Kacey Shae, and it won’t be my last! I finished this audiobook in one day.
I could not take my headphones out. Simone’s character growth was so relatable, going from quiet and always doing what others expected of her, to pink hair and tattoos. I loved it- I feel like far too often we let the opinion’s of others influence our decisions, so it was refreshing that Simone was able to break away from that and be who she wanted to be. Wild Love was so raw and real: cancer, depression, therapy, and loss. These hard but very real topics made this book so much more than just a romance novel. It was bittersweet that unfortunate circumstances brought Wild and Simone back together, but it was also a nice reminder that there is good amongst the bad.

The narration was top notch! Maxine Mitchell is always a must listen for me. The emotion she brings to her characters is palpable, and Wild Love was no exception. Robert Hatchet is quickly becoming one of my favorite male narrators. You could hear the emotion and vulnerability in his performance. They took what was already an incredible book and brought it to life beautifully.

Best Kacey Shea book I've read!

Oh my - this one was so much more than I expected. I get the up and coming musician who has a magical night with someone he's just met...and then ghosts her. That I was expecting. BUT the truly valuable special friendship between cousins Wild & Will and the struggle of Will's illness - oh my heart and then Samuel - oh my heart broke so hard for this estranged couple.

Wild and Simone meet by chance and have a true connection until Wild breaks her heart by never calling! Now it's decades later - and can I just say that I love the older second chance romance aspect - that is a trope that we need to see more of.

Simone has been through a lot over the past 20+ years and is a survivor and reeling from a broken relationship. She sees Wild again in his hometown, but he doesn't recognize her. So to save face - she gives him a fake name.

That's all fine since she's only in town on vacation until they share a connection anew, so things get complicated. And Wild is going through a lot with taking care of Will and then a betrayal he doesn't see coming on top of Jenn/Simone's switched identity.

I cried over this one and had to read the ending twice as it had so much heart. Truly a beautiful story that you don't want to miss!

I highlighted and bookmarked so much of this book which is always an indicator of a great story that gave me all the feels. One of my fave quotes:
"Ours is a forever love. A love that refused to surrender. Ours is a wild love, and this time I'm never letting her go." Swoon!

And the epilogue and bonus epilogue - chef's kiss! Made me cry again!!

Seriously, the best Kacey Shea book I've ever read and I've read a few of hers! So much heart and some heat too! I adored Simone and Wild!!

I voluntarily requested and read and LOVED an advance reader copy.

Wild Love
Wilder Valley #3
By Kacey Shea
Narrated by Robert Hatchet, Maxine Mitchell

Get ready for a passionate, emotional listen! Kacey Shea has outdone herself with this rockstar, second chance romance. I don't even know where to begin. At 20 years old, Simone is relatively a quiet girl. When she meets Wild though, her night was going to change her life. There is something about this man that resonated with her and after a fantastic night, she could only hope he would call as he said he would. Now it's twenty years later, and she is taking a vacation in Wilder Valley, only to find herself face to face with Wild once again. Wild's dreams of becoming a rockstar have dwindled. When his cousin Will called him home, he went not expecting to meet the woman of his dreams. Not recognizing her was his first mistake. But feelings grow, secrets are kept and tragic circumstances all come into play keeping these two apart. Will it ever be their time? I could not stop listening to this story. It's everything I love. The couple is meant to be, the friendship and family ties with Will are indescribably poignant and the bittersweet outcome that turns into happiness is well worth the wait. I never tear up during books, but this one needed tissues. It's fantastic and should be a one-click for everyone who loves a good love story.

Robert Hatchet and Maxine Mitchell. Nothing else needs to be said with a team like this. Hatchet pulls out all the stops with is emotional journey. He knows how to tug at my heart and make me love his character. Mitchell as Simone is strong, determined and ready for the next part of her life. I loved their performance as it brought out all the emotions and made me feel. It's amazing.

Wild Love is the third book in this series and from the previous books, we don’t know much about our MMC, except for the fact that he never comes over. So I was intrigued to finally get Tim Wilder, aka Wild’s, story.

💫Small town romance
💫One night stand
💫Missed connection
💫Vacation romance
💫Main characters in their 40’s
💫SO MANY EMOTIONS

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️
Angst level: 💔💔

Wild and Simone had one wild night of bliss in their 20’s and then never heard from or saw each other again. Here we are two decades later – Wild is back home to help care for a sick family member and Simone is on vacation. They are once again in the same place, at the same time. The only problem – Wild does not realize who Simone is.

But something is still drawing him to her. So they start all over and form a new connection that eventually turns into much more.

I adore Simone and Wild SO MUCH!! I have to be honest and I didn’t know if this book was going to be for me, but this is now my FAVORITE in the series! The connection that these two had was just so beautiful and undeniable.

But my favorite part of this book was all the emotions that it brought out of me. I definitely didn’t think this was going to be the book that made me cry, but here we are. Will, Wild’s cousin, and his relationship was just so special and everything surrounding Will just made me want to bawl my eyes out, up until the very end.

Robert Hatchet and Maxine Mitchell did a fantastic job narrating these characters. I felt every emotion and feeling that these characters were feeling. But huge shoutout to Robert for his singing voice in this book – he literally sings in this one and that will make this audiobook hugely stand out!

5 stars

I received the ALC and kindle version from The Author Agency and Kacey Shea and I started by reading the kindle and then flipped to the audio during my commute to work. Let me tell you, if you have the choice, please, please, please, PLEASE listen to the audio. Not only does Maxine Mitchell and Robert Hatchet to phenomenal jobs with the narriation, but THERE ARE 2 ORIGINAL SONGS THAT ARE SUNG! The original guitar was performed by Joe Montone. Let me tell you...those songs...was like a gut punch to the heart and turned the faucet of my eyes on until I had no liquid left in my body. Those songs themselves deserve all the stars.

What I loved about this book:
-Late in life romance (both in their 40s)
-Second chance romance (they met 24 years prior)
-One night stand to love
-"Rockstar" romance (the quotes are deserved, but read it to understand)

Triggers to be aware of:
-Overcoming cancer
-Losing battles to cancer
-Dementia of a parent
-Family secrets

Simone and Wilder met as doe-eyed 20-somethings and a series of unfortunate events kept them apart. 24 years later fate decided to bring them back together. I get the whole giving him a fake name at the beginning and i can understand how that would snowball into the predicament they find themselves in. I mean, the audio is a little over 8 hours and I got through it in one shift at work and my commute back home. I couldn't stop. I literally couldn't stop. I even sat in my car in the garage when I got home to finish it and to clean myself up enough to go inside and eat dinner with my husband. Such a beautiful story.

Wild and Simone met twenty years prior when he was passing out flyers for a concert for his band. They had a strong connection towards one another and spent one night together. Twenty years later, they meet again while Simone is on vacation, but lies and gives him a different name when he doesn’t recognize her. The two of them get to know each other while Wild is also dealing with the devastating news about his cousin’s cancer.

I couldn’t read this book fast enough! I thought how Wild and Simone met was cute and I liked the little mystery of why Wild hadn’t called Simone after their night together. I thought the first two books did a great job of setting up this mysteriousness about Wild and his relationship with Pops, and that he was able to finally find some sort of solace about their past relationship. I loved Wild’s relationship with his cousin Will and that he would do anything for him ❤️😭😭 I wanted Simone to tell Wild who she was when she first saw him after twenty years, but I knew that the author was going to use that as a part of the third act breakup or conflict, and I just needed to be patient. Well, I was patient! You could sort of predict that her friend was going to have a hand in Simone’s identity coming out. I loved that Wild was able to reconnect with his siblings. This book made me cry so much, but I liked that it showed the pain of losing a loved one, of how strong Simone was after having had cancer herself and moving forward with her life, and how much Pops dementia affects everyone in their family in different ways. I loved the characters and the town!

Wild and Simone's second chance romance is beautiful, poignant, and completely captivating. They first meet when Wild is trying to make it with his band and Simone is a college student. They have an instant connection and they spend a passionate night together. Neither want to say goodbye but promises are made to call as Wild leaves to get back on the road. But the call never happens.... Now twenty years later, they have both lived very different lives than what they had planned. When Simone needs a vacation, her boss offers up her family cabin, and Simone takes her up on it. Wild is called home to help his cousin run his hardware store when he falls ill. When Simone walks into the store needing directions, the course of both their lives is forever changed, with a twist. Wild and Simone spend time together, getting to know who they are today. They never forgot the other, and the bond they shared, thinking was gone, begins to reweave itself. They help each other heal from each of their past trauma, to become stronger and whole. But there are secrets between them and when they are revealed, betrayal breaks both their hearts. Will their fragile new bond be strong enough to fight for what they lost the first time? I absolutely loved this overwhelmingly emotional journey about relationships, family, and love. Wild and Simone are wonderfully flawed characters who were so perfect for each other, especially the second time around. This is a breathtaking tale of loyalty and betrayal, of love and heartbreak, and of hope and healing. I loved every moment of this beautiful, raw and emotional journey.
