It’s Not Easy Dealing With 3 Kids Who Keep Asking For Their Dad Every Day, I Am Doing My Best – Late Christian Atsu’s Wife Replies Critics

A few days ago, the wife of late Ghanaian football star Christian Atsu went viral after a video of her dancing instead of mourning popped up online.

She received a lot of criticism and backlash for dancing and posting it on social media instead of mourning the death of her late husband, Christian Atsu.

Claire, the wife of Christian Atsu has replied to those bashing her by explaining herself.

” I am writing just to say a few things, yes I posted a dance video. Not because I am happy but because I have to find a way to deal with my grief. I am not alone. I have 3 children to take care of by myself. I can’t lose myself because I need to be strong for them. And in Europe, you deal with mental health in a lot of ways and dancing was always my passion. So excuse me, but please just think before you write something on Youtube. Thank you.
We are missing Christian every single day and it hasn’t been easy. Especially when you have 3 children who are asking for their dad! I am doing my best!” Claire wrote on her Insta stories.

Atsu, 31, was caught up in a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria on February 6, killing more than 54,000 people in both countries. He had gone missing following the collapse of an apartment building in Hatay.

There were initial reports the player had been pulled alive a day after the quake, but these turned out to be false and his body was later found under the rubble and flown back to Ghana.

Mourners silently filed past Atsu’s coffin, which arrived draped in Ghana’s national flag. Family, fans and beneficiaries of his charitable donations remembered him as a philanthropist.

A tribute was held for Atsu on February 18, attended by his widow Marie-Claire Rupio and their three children, at St James’ Park before Newcastle’s Premier League match against Liverpool.
