Actress Amanda Abbington has pulled out of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2023 just days after missing the weekend’s live show.
The news was confirmed on tonightās edition of ‘It Takes Two’ and an official statement has been released. A ‘Strictly’ Spokesperson said āAmanda Abbington is unable to continue in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future.ā
On Friday fans of the show were told that Abbington would miss Saturday night’s show due to ‘medical reasons’ and that she would return the following week.
Speculation has been rife that Abbington has been clashing with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice, and that the actress had been considering her future on the show. Both Abbington and Pernice have denied that there are any issues between them, with Abbington taking to social media recently to assure fans that they were enjoying working together.
At this stage in the competition it’s unlikely that anyone else will be brought in to replace her but we suspect that this weekend may see no one eliminated from the competition.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2023 continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One. It’s the Halloween Special, so be prepared for plenty of surprises and incredible costumes!
