Medicinal Cannabis Musculoskeletal Pain Study - Patient Eligibility Questionnaire

Thanks for expressing interest in participating in the MSK Chronic Pain Study. We are hoping to learn whether MC treatment can subjectively improve quality of life and reduce pain for people with MSK chronic pain. This study will be conducted by weekly online questionnaires, with several consultations with our study doctor as well, either in-clinic or via Telehealth/online. 

Please note that if you are accepted into the study, your consultation costs will be free to you ie. paid by the study Sponsor, but you will be required to pay for the medication. Each 30ml medication bottle is between $114 and $250 including shipping to your address, depending on the product prescribed. Balanced THC:CBD or high potency CBD medications are the most prescribed. Each bottle lasts appropriately 4 weeks on average, as it depends on dosage, which is individualised to the participant. Therefore, it is expected you will need 3 bottles for the duration of this study.

 Health Fund Rebates - Many patients have had positive responses from their Health Funds who have received a refund for a portion of their prescriptions. These refunds are dependent on their specific Private Health insurance plans and their level of cover. Please check with your own Health Fund and be persistent as your level of cover may mean they have to cover non-PBS listed prescription fees. I've attached some more information about private health cover for medication.

The investigators involved in this study have developed this screening survey to assist in determining whether you are potentially eligible to participate.

Before taking the questionnaire please note: This observational study will record the impact on musculoskeletal originated chronic pain, as well as quality of life, in patients using a particular brand of prescribed medicinal cannabis oil.

This short quiz will help to screen whether you may be able to join this study, but your eligibility will still need to confirmed by the prescriber who is the Principal Investigator of this study.
