The Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) is a 7 layer apparel system for the U.S. Army designed to be worn in moderate to sub-zero weather. this clothing and gear system was also adapted by other branches to keep soldiers warm and underwent versions from Generations I, II, and III.
