Jason Suttles from Belgium celebrated his victory at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON after 57:01 minutes (unofficial). The only 22-year-old Colombian Gabriela Rueda won the women's race with 1:08:59 minutes (unofficial). In total, more than 4,500 skaters competed in the world's largest inline marathon. In the women's and men's field, the first two women and men respectively broke away early, the third-placed then convinced in each case in the mass sprint. The winner Jason Suttels: "From the beginning I went ahead alone, I saw that the field was a bit tired and then I always had to go over 50 km/h - I was hoping that someone from my team would follow and was glad when Bart came. Winner Gabriela Rueda: "I'm super happy, I wanted to break the course record and so I started right away with a lot of risk, but in the end it took too much energy."
