Mission description

The EU-funded Support to Justice-Related Reforms "Pravo-Justice" project seeks two project interpreters to provide simultaneous interpretation for project events as well as translation services. 

Two interpreters will be engaged through fixed-term contracts of 30 months. The Interpreters will:

  • Provide simultaneous interpretation at project events from English to Ukrainian and/or Ukrainian to English. 
  • Translate project financial and administrative documents, as well as major Project outputs (same languages as above)
  • Ensure the coverage of interpretation services at all project events, coordinating with and engaging external services if needed.

Project or context description

The Support to Justice Sector Reforms in Ukraine (Pravo-Justice III) Project, implemented by Expertise France (EF) with funding from the European Union, accompanies Ukrainian authorities in the process of comprehensive justice sector reform. Pravo-Justice III is envisaged to build on the results achieved by the predecessor projects (Pravo - Justice I&II) who, since 2017, have supported an ambitious sectoral reform agenda. Pravo-Justice III is organized alongside four results: Accountability for international crimes and fight against impunity (Component 1), Judiciary reform (Component 2), Enforcement of court judgement and reform of penitentiary and probation systems (Component 3), and EU integration (Component 4).

Required profile

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in both interpretation and law is required;
  • At least five years of experience providing translation and interpretation services in a fast paced environment and at high level events;
  • Strong legal vocabulary would be considered a major asset;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • High degree of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Ukrainian.
  • Knowlegde of the Ukrainian justice sector and justice sector reform would be an asset.
