The VA 4-H Teen Summit Leadership Team is excited to be partnering with the University of Kentucky for their "Critical Conversations" session on Saturday, March 13th, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Open to all VA 4-H Teens (age 13+ by September 30th 2021)
Critical Conversations is a collaborative effort between the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment's 4-H Youth Development Program, CES Family and Consumer Sciences, and Office of Diversity. Through this training, youth will be able to:
1. Understand diversity and its relation to power and privilege and how to leverage it
2. Determine personal levels of empathy and learn strategies to strengthen practice to communicate across differences
3. Understand the bystander effect and how it relates to social justice
Please note that this session will be capped at 25 participants. A waitlist will be created for our secondary date. Please watch your email for more information.
Registration closes on March 6th.
