Virtual Reality Workshop

The McGill Virtual Reality for Child Care hub is organizing a free VR workshop on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Canada with funding from the RSBO.

The overarching goal of the workshop is to address the barriers, facilitators, and contextual challenges in bringing VR use for pediatric pain and anxiety management across Québec child health settings.

Attendees will benefit from learning about the evidence for VR in pediatric pain and anxiety management, meeting with local and international VR companies, exploring VR products on the market, learning about existing resources, and devising a knowledge mobilization and implementation plan to concretely outline next steps for VR use at their own institution.  

Participants may register for the full day (9:00am to 3:00pm) or come visit the VR booths and view the posters from (9:00am-9:30am and 11:00am-12:00pm).

Call for Abstracts

Deadline: 17 APRIL, 2024

The VR Workshop Organizing Committee invites all students, trainees, researchers, and healthcare professionals to submit an abstract for the poster/booth session of the workshop.

Requirements:

  • Include: authors, program or department, affiliation, and supervisor (if applicable)
  • Abstract should be no longer than 250 words
  • May be in English or French
  • Topic: VR in child health care

 

Call for Booths

Deadline: 17 APRIL, 2024

We invite VR companies, start-ups, and organizations to:

  • host a booth during the poster/booth session
  • showcase your products and resources
  • connect with healthcare professionals, researchers, and trainees interested in using VR clinically

 

Comic Strip Creation

Research Participation:

We are conducting an infrastructure research study at the Ingram School of Nursing, funded by the Réseau de santé buccodentaire et osseuse. We invite you to complete a survey to tell us about the barriers, facilitators, and contextual challenges you are facing in your use of VR or attempts to integrate VR into your practice setting. Survey completion is completely voluntary and anonymous and will not impact your participation in the VR workshop.
