The League of Women Voters of Nevada County welcomes the public to attend a special evening with guest speaker Judge LaDoris Cordell on May 9. Cordell will speak live via Zoom on the big screen following the business portion of the League’s annual meeting.

Cordell, who  served on the Superior Court of Northern California for nearly 20 years, has had a long and prestigious career. She is the first African American woman to sit on the court, the author of “Her Honor: My Life on the Bench … What Works, What’s Broken and How to Change It,” is a former vice provost of Stanford Law School, a legal commentator with NPR, CNN, and MSNBC, and a police reform advocate.

The first 50 people to arrive will receive a free, autographed copy of Judge Cordell’s book.
