Hiring manager, Great Wrap

Why Great Wrap

Have you ever been reading all of the negative publicity about the state of our planet and thought, ‘That’s enough!’ In 2019, we had that feeling and decided to take action. We started Great Wrap. We knew there were billions of other people like us and that companies were making strong commitments to get rid of plastic, but it didn’t feel like there was any meaningful innovation happening to support this transition.

We wanted to build a company that truly moved the needle on eradicating plastic by empowering people and businesses to make the shift to something great. Our purpose and our reason for being at Great Wrap is to end the existence of petroleum stretch wrap within 10 years. We’re talking about millions of tons that are used just once each year and then sit in a landfill or our oceans for a few thousand years.

To hit this big goal of ours we rapidly innovate and work on game changing technology every day. We do things like convert potato waste into compostable stretch wrap and transform CO2 emissions into marine degradable flexible films. Yes, we are literally sucking CO2 emissions out of the sky and converting them into stretch wrap that can be composted back into your garden to combat climate change!

Whether it’s Chief Sustainability Officers or Heads of Procurement, these are people who are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to implement change that has a positive environmental outcome, making the daily tasks meaningful and downright enjoyable!

  • In the morning, you’ll come into the factory and hit the ground running by working on the latest sales opportunities and converting customers currently reliant on plastic to sustainable alternatives that don't harm the environment.
  • After lunch, you might have a quick sync-up with your manager or the broader team to discuss the nuances of a customer's requirements. Whether it’s working out a roll-out plan or working with the manufacturing team to provide recommendations, no two days are the same.
