Breakfast Meet & Greet with Senator Brian Kavanagh

Please join AIANY Political Action Fund (AIANY PAF) on Friday, April 19 at 8:30am at the Center for Architecture for a breakfast meet and greet with Senator Brian Kavanagh. AIANY PAF works to increase the strength of architects’ voice in government by supporting candidates who prioritize building more affordable housing, investing in decarbonization efforts, and supporting New York’s robust transit and infrastructure.

New York City is facing hardships unseen in decades with a housing vacancy rate of 1.41%, working-class families being forced to leave the city due to the cost of living, and high interest rates and construction costs making it a challenge to build housing citywide and retrofit buildings with high energy efficiency systems.

To tackle these major challenges, we need trusted and proven leaders up in Albany fighting for legislation to make building affordable housing and energy efficient buildings possible. Brian Kavanagh is the prime example of the type of leader needed to make a difference. Kavanagh is the leading advocate in the New York State legislature for tenant and homeowner protections, for creating affordable housing, and for ensuring that no New Yorker is ever homeless because they can’t pay their rent. Brian has represented Lower Manhattan for 18 years – elected to the Assembly in 2006 and the Senate in 2017 – and has a proven track record in advancing a progressive agenda.

The program will include time for networking and Q&A. A contribution of any size is a ticket to this event ($25, $50, $100+). Contributions are made directly to Brian Kavanagh for Senate. Please note that candidate contributions are not tax deductible.
