5 Reasons Every ENTREPRENEUR Should Write A Book

I remember the exact moment I discovered my content writing business, Travel Ink, had almost doubled in revenue compared to the previous quarter.

I was at my desk analysing the accounts wondering if I’d missed something (numbers have never been my thing) but a quick call to my accountant assured me they were correct.

Not only had my business received more sales leads, those sales leads had converted more quickly. It was a phenomenal result considering I hadn’t done any extra marketing or added any new services.

However, I did have a new title: published author.

And this was an absolute game-changer for my business.

I’m not the only one; in a survey conducted for the Business Impact of Writing a Book, 96% of authors reported that publishing a book generated more clients.

If that’s not enough to convince you to write a book related to your expertise, here are five more reasons:

1. More media exposure

When I published my first book, the value of media coverage generated as a result was worth almost $150,000 (and that was just in the UAE.) The opportunity to talk about my book and my content writing business was a huge factor in brand building and I became a reliable source for other media outlets.

2. More clients

87% of published authors reported that it allowed them to generate a more desirable client base and charge higher fees. As a published author, potential clients are attracted to the credibility and reputation such an achievement represents, giving you and your business a competitive edge. You may even find yourself in the enviable position of clients approaching you.

3. More credibility

As a published author, you are perceived as a trustworthy expert on your written topic and become a reliable source of information. It helps build trust between you and your audience and what you have to offer.

4. More opportunities

Whether you want more speaking engagements or to enter new markets, as a published author you are positioned as an industry expert and leader. Opportunities will arise for you to provide market insights and address industry challenges, many of which are covered by media outlets.

5. A bigger audience

With the additional option of digital and audio books, your ability to deliver your message to a wider audience has increased significantly allowing your brand to be seen worldwide.
