Cheltenham Town were beaten by an Accrington Stanley goal scored after 30 seconds as they suffered their second away defeat of the season.

Sean McConville touched over the line from close range after Shaun Whalley raced through on goal and it was enough to seal Stanley's first home win of the campaign.

Cheltenham did stage a late push for a leveller, but they could not find a way through, with Alfie May used from the bench for the second game in a row.

It was the Robins' first league defeat at Accrington for 13 years.

Cheltenham play Walsall at home in the Papa John's Trophy group stage on Tuesday night.
