Rate this book
A hacker, a federal agent, and a crime boss. The time has come to fight.
Computer technician Alan Harding is no saint, but his squeaky-clean image is unshakable in the eyes of his family and especially his young son. After he agrees to assist a drug lord-turned-snitch and hack into a criminal database, he’s faced with an impossible challenge—keeping his hands and heart away from his sexy as sin bodyguard, DEA Special Agent Hannah Adler.
Hannah would rather go hand-to-hand with an assailant than go undercover as Alan’s girlfriend, but she’s determined to keep him safe and his illegal activities on the down-low. The handsome man and his adorable child, however, are more than she bargained for.
Once their enemies learn the truth and retaliate by kidnapping Alan’s son, they’ll have to race against the clock to save the boy and bring a dangerous empire to its knees.

Suspenseful story of a bodyguard posing as a fake girlfriend. It is a slow burn until they finally succumb to the chemistry between them and then steamy gratification. Lots of action and intrigue and a really cute kid. Hannah’s interactions with Alan’s son are sweet.

BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW THAN THE ONE YOU DON’T

The story is part of the Arresting Onyx Series by Amber Daulton but will read well as a stand-alone. This is also the final story in this series. The two main characters will be Alan Harding and Special Agent Hannah Adler with the DEA.

The story’s plot will keep the pages turning with pieces of the past, and issues with the present. Because this story connects with the others, yet is a mystery with suspense, I will keep this review brief, and not give away pertinent information. The story is full of secrets, lies, deceit, and cover-ups. It has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. Lives are intertwined, tangled, and blurred. It is as if no good deed goes unpunished, and be careful what you wish for, because it may be a bargain that could cost you dearly.

The chemistry between these two sizzles, and eventually, it will change to physical. The story does include intimate scenes and does have a happy ending, but it comes at a high price.

Hannah: I would’ve balked at a cover-up a year ago, but I don’t see the world through a black-and-white visor anymore. Everything is gray now.
Alan: I’ve lived in the gray for years. What’s one more cover-up in the grand scheme of things? Fisher’s already concocted so many.

ARC Review

Arresting Alan by Amber Daulton is a romantic suspense. It's the fourth book from the Arresting Onyx series.

For years Alan Harding was working for a crime boss to save his brother's life. Now it was time to assist in an investigation so he could live his life in peace. Hannah Adler would be his bodyguard throughout this challenge. Things are supposed to be easy, work together for a month, gather intel, and then go their separate ways. The plans changed though.
Alan and Hannah fell hard for each other and when the situation turned ugly they fought together so they would save his son.

Another great book from this series. Well written, with a captivating plot and good world-building. There's a good amount of suspense and action along with the brewing romance and the steamy scenes. I liked the family vibe with the three of them. It's a book that keeps you on your toes with the danger and puts a smile on your face with the kid who craves to have a new mom. My favorite part was Hannah's interaction with Danny.

If you are looking for a good book to read then try this one. I will rate it with 4 stars.

Arresting Alan is the fourth and final installment in the Arresting Onyx series. I’ve read each book in the characters' quest to take down the Onyx syndicate. Alan is Mason’s brother (a character from another book whom I enjoyed) But Alan has his own set of problems revolving around an impossible challenge, his adorable little boy, and Hannah, his sexy as sin undercover bodyguard. Which makes the situation even worse. It becomes a race again time after his son is kidnapped. He must save the boy while attempting to bring a criminal organization to its knees.
No spoilers here. However, the characters and the scenarios are so well described that you’ll feel like you are battling right beside them. I found myself holding my breath hoping Alan would not get caught in a certain scenario. Whew This book brought the series full circle in a highly satisfying way. I highly recommend Arresting Alan. The book can be read as a standalone. I did read them out of order, but I recommend reading them in order if you have a chance.

Alan, a single father and friend to an Onxy crime boss found himself in a tough situation. Alan could work for his friend and crime boss or see his brother sit in jail. Alan was forced into hacking the computers and working with a DEA agent. The red headed hottie special agent Hannah Adler. Alan knew right away she could protect him and his son but could he keep this strictly business. His mind and body both wanted her. Hannah grew close with Danny, Alan’s son and Alan found himself not being able to resist her charms.
I have enjoyed this series and and sad to see it go but glad that the author added all the characters from the series back into this book to wrap up the stories. We get a glimpse into the furnitures of the other characters and I really enjoyed that. A note from the author says we should expect a spin off series. A great read. I recommend that you read them in order and read them all.

This is the fourth and final book in the Arresting Onyx series, and it’s such a satisfying conclusion. Alan has a really interesting story, and I was so excited when I realized he was the brother of Mason, a protagonist earlier in the series. I loved his story, and seeing how it connected to what Mason and the other characters went through brought the series to a bit of a full-circle moment for me.

A hacker with strong ties to his family, Alan gets sucked into some shady dealings to protect his brother. Now, years later, he finally has a chance to sever these unwanted ties and deal with the guilt he feels for his part in the gang. I felt for Alan, who did everything to help his brother, and I found his to be on of the more compelling stories in the series.

Alan and Hannah, his bodyguard and fake girlfriend, have such great chemistry, and I loved their banter. Alan’s daughter is also a delight, and seeing him with her is so heart-warming. You can tell that Alan is a good guy who was forced into some bad stuff, and he’s desperate to live a clean life with his kid. I like how he and Hannah work to break the hold Onyx has on him.

Some of the minor characters and their stories are also intriguing, and I like that we get the answers to several questions I had over the course of the series as well as updates on the protagonists of the first three books. There are also some great themes about family, perseverance, and fighting for those you love. Thanks to Amber Daulton for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Blackmailed to save his brother, Alan Harding agreed to work for a crime boss.
Years later and guilt ridden, he has the chance to break free but his only way out is to join the Feds. Hacking into a criminal database is not his greatest fear. It's the pretend fake girlfriend.

DEA Special Agent Hannah Adler is assigned to be his bodyguard/fake girlfriend. Hot single dad plus adorable child is more than she bargained for.

Besides the sexual tension, falling for each other while working hard so he can live his life in peace; their enemies discover the truth and kidnap Alan's son.
The race against the clock begins to save the boy and bring crimes to justice.

Captivating read with action, intrigue and suspense – and some really good hot-stuff. One nail-biting final scene! And that satisfying happily-ever-after we all crave.

The short story has laughs, suspense, secrets, and pain.

If you have not read the below they are also in this series
Arresting Mason (Arresting Onyx, #1)
Arresting Jeremiah (Arresting Onyx, #2)
Ryan's Temptation (Arresting Onyx, #2.5)
Arresting Benjamin (Arresting Onyx #3)
Trevor's Redemption (Arresting Onyx #3.5)

This is Hannah and Alan’s story. Hannah is in charge of keeping Alan safe and going undercover as his fake girlfriend. He is hacking in order to help out. But when he agreed to help it was with the assumption that his young son would be safe. But when someone kidnaps his son all bets are off. The must work together in order to bring the boy back. Can they bring him home and move forward? Or will all the danger tear the little bit of a relationship they had away?

I recommend this book.

Another good read from Amber Daulton. I was hooked from the start, with the premise of the hero being blackmailed into doing something wrong to save his brother. It’s also good to get to meet with old characters as well.
Give this a try if you like:
Your romance with a good dose of suspense thrown in
A heroes who is also a dad
A heroine who is badass
The main characters working hand in hand to achieve a common goal and get past their traumas
Sexual tension and hot sex scenes
A nail-biting final scene
A Happy Ever After

Alan Harding has agreed to help hack a criminal database. Hannah Adler is not very impressed with the job of portraying his girlfriend . The DEA Special Agent is armed with the task of keeping him safe for the month . Easy right? Then there’s his adorable young son’s kidnapping in the mix and of a sudden this book turns suspenseful as well as the steaming burn of romance . Great story , entertaining and compelling. I read an advance of this book and I’m leaving a voluntary review

Arresting Alan by Amber Daulton was a good read that I enjoyed. I liked the romantic relationship between Alan and Hannah and how they handled their romance, including watching over Danny while being involved with a DEA investigation against dangerous drug lords. Even though this was the last of the series, which I just realized toward the end, the plot moves along at a good pace, and the book stands out on its own.

First one I’ve read from this series, and though it took me a wee bit to get into it I’m glad I persevered as it turned into such a great read..
It’s got a good ploy, steam, and loads of family vibes, so not much not to like. And you’ll end up loving Danny too.

I received a review reader’s copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

This was good. I feel like I would’ve liked it better if I had read the previous books. I liked the premise and the characters. I feel like it started slow though. I really got into it about 70% of the way through.

I received this book for free for an honest review.
