Let's Get Festive! December at Artcore
Artcore is an international centre for contemporary art and creativity that is based in Derby, UK and is home to a gallery, studios, workspaces, shop, and café. A vibrant hub for commissioning, production, presentation, and debate, we offer opportunities for diverse audiences to engage directly with creative practices through participation and discussion. During COVID19 isolation we are taking our classes online so we can continue to connect with our community and support your well-being through creativity.




Adults:

1) Un-Aware
Wednesdays - 11am-1pm
Un-Aware is a community project for adults in Derby.  This month we are working on individual artworks as well as a group piece and will be joined by a guest speaker to convey the theme of Community Spirit.  All classes are free and will look at crime awareness and feelings of community through creative exercises.

2) Power to Empower
Fridays - 11am-1pm
This is a brand new course exclusively for adults who are not in employment, education or training to learn craft based skills, develop knowledge of branding, packaging and selling their work and explore options for establishing small businesses.  Participants will be led through staff workshops, craft sessions and online resources to build new skills, more confidence and a strong network of fellow crafters.

3) Table Talk - ESOL - Learning English Creatively.  
Mondays - Weekly starting 6th September
Creative sessions using food, arts, crafts and storytelling for learning. Participants will come together to learn about dishes from around the world in Artcores new cafe - Participants will be encouraged to bring in and share their own recipes. Participants will enjoy the food together, use storytelling and writing to describe the techniques of cooking, write down the recipes and create images that represent each dish, the cultures they originate from and special occasions that they are associated with  - Led by professional artists.  

4) This is Not a Rehearsal !
Tuesdays -biweekly sessions starting soon
A program of creative storytelling through art and making for people who are survivors of or are living with Cancer. Participants will come together to work with artists using a variety of mediums, methods and techniques for storytelling. The sessions will develop a range of creative techniques and skills that can be used to express and explore participants' personal stories - thinking creatively to share experiences and difficult situations they have been through on their cancer journey in constructive ways.


Children and Young People:

1) Express Yourself
Tuesdays - 4.45pm-6.45pm
Join artists for a new block of Express Yourself designed to build confidence, self esteem and provide fun outlets for young people to showcase their ideas. For young people aged 8-15.  

2) Future Endeavours
Saturdays - 12.30pm-2pm or 2.30pm-4pm
Young people aged 10-18 will work with professional artists in weekly sessions to science, technology, engineering and maths through art activities.
