Alina

I was eleven when I met Chase Adams. I loved him before I knew what lovin' was.

I pulled, he pushed.

I gave, he took.

I loved... I lost.

Now he's back. All grown up and sexy as sin.

But things changed while he was gone.

So, he can show those dimples and flex those muscles all he wants.

It won't change a thing.

Chase Adams is nothin' but a lost memory. I'll do everything I can to keep him that way.

Chase

Growing up, there were only two women I ever loved.

Neither one of them ever really loved me back.

Until her. Alina. My Goldi.

She was everything that's good. I was the bad.

She was the brightest goddamn star. I was the black hole shredding her to pieces.

I loved her wrong, losing her to my demons.

But now I'm back. A better man.

I'll do everything I can to make her remember us, even if all she wants is to forget.

As book 1 in the series I can easily see how many of the characters are going to get their own books. Yay. This was a great second chance storyline. I feared the “high school” themed part 1 of the book. It finished around 30-ish% so that was good and I was able to enjoy the adult version of them longer.

    Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? Sort of!

The back story... The MCs meet as kids. The H and his sister are with a foster family and move into the h's neighborhood. The meet when he is 13 and she is 11. As the get older, his broody attitude keeps pushing her away until he finally realizes that he will lose her. Things go well until they don't.

Romance or Gist: There is definitely a pull but both are pretty selfish (he is very selfish).

The drama explosion... There are a few
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? Ok
    Was it OTT? Yes
Separation involved? Yes when younger, no when older
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Properly

Final Notes... Both characters disappointed me with their lack of respect for others as they use them for sexual gratification while interested in each other. He strings a woman along for a few years but cannot be direct with her when he wants to end it. She loses her virginity at 15 because she is mad at the h so she grabs a random guy at a party. Both ignore the crumbling sister as she teeters on the edge. Ugh! There are lots of good points in the story as well, especially when discussing therapy for families rocked by addiction.
