Finally! Bestbuy makes getting a PS5 possible!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've wanted a PS5 for a while now. Ironically, it has less to do with any PS5-exclusive games (you can count those on one hand, pretty much), but after getting a 4K TV, I wanted to see just how big of a difference there was in my existing PS4 library...plus, I wanted a PS5 anyway. Given the problematic microchip shortage (still aching to get a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, thanks scalpers), I wasn't confident in getting one of these anytime soon, not to mention the rampant scalping that is still ongoing. I got a month of the Premium Plus membership, which I also heartily recommend, especially for those who are just starting too dip their toes into video games. It's a real good deal. Played through all of Dark Pictures: Little Hope and Ys IX, and a few game trials and more. It's at its best on the PS5, BTW. The system is excellent, but I should mention that at this time, it's essentially a "Super PS4 Pro". I know that this is consistent with new systems, and it appears that current global events are putting the stranglehold on more innovation, but I am glad to see some really awesome PS5 games coming soon, especially Alan Wake 2, Street Fighter 6, and more. I've just gotta say it. The system looks weird, and weirder still on its side. It comes with a base that does the job, but like my wife described it, it looks "melted". My own opinion, I think it's too much design, but don't judge a book by its cover. The system and interface is exceptional, and gameplay is wonderful. The controller has even more heft to it than the PS4 DualShock, probably thanks to all the little motors in it delivering haptic feedback. This takes a lot of getting used to, but it's so novel that I'm more intrigued by it than anything else. I'm really glad to get one of these, even if it was at full MSRP. (I usually wait for Black Friday deals, but given the current climate for microprocessors and the demand of these, I wasn't counting on this for at least a couple of years.) For anyone who has struggled to get one, really just request an invite. No obligation, but mine literally shipped and arrived the day I ordered it.

The Amazing ps5!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So glad to have one finally! Like the reviews I’ve read, this is definitely huge compared to the ps4, but besides that, I love everything else about it! The ssd, the controller with haptic feedback feels fantastic in hand when playing games and load times on most games is nonexistent! I picked up God of War, Demons Souls, Horizon F.W., Mortal Kombat and Ratchet and Clank R.A., they all feel next gen, incredible! The only other thing I wish Sony could have done differently besides the size is the storage size, it will fill up pretty quick because the size of some games can be about 100 GB+. Would definitely recommend anyone to upgrade and pick up a ps5!

Great Console but questionable gaming ecosystem
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been on Team Xbox since the beginning but decided to switch to the PS5 because of the exclusive games. Performance-wise, the Xbox Series X and PS5 are on the same level. I would probably say the XSX is a little bit faster but its so minimal. I don't like the design on the PS5 and ended up purchasing different cover plates. The console is massive and with concerns about overheating, I didn't want to keep it in my entertainment center. I heard about other users having issues with large amounts of dust collecting in the system over time so I bought a mesh dust cover to put over the front of the system. The controller is really nice and feels like a next-gen piece of equipment, unlike the Xbox controllers. The battery life isn't great, so I recommended getting a second controller or a 10 ft. USB-C cable. A few things irked me over the first few weeks of the purchase. Regarding the storage capacity, the Xbox is 1TB, and the PS5 is 825GB. I thought it was weird that PS5 used that storage capacity on their box. I figured that was the storage capacity after it was reformatted, but its not. After it is formatted, it drops down to 650GB. With the increasing size of games, I found myself in a situation where I either have to purchase additional internal storage, which is pricey, or move the games between the console and an external SSD drive. Coming from Xbox, where doing a return for a digital download is easy, it is the exact opposite when dealing with Sony. I unknowingly purchased a DLC already included in one of the games I bought. I learned that digital downloads cannot be refunded once they have been DOWNLOADED to your system. It was only $10 but if you pre-order a game and have auto-download on, it's yours, even if you change your mind and never play it. The week after I purchased the system, Sony also announced that they would raise the PlayStation Plus prices by 33%. I play video games to take a break from the real world for 1-2 hours and avoid the online competitive gaming space so it wasn't a deal breaker but made me rethink my purchase. With all that negative stuff out of the way, actually playing the games is really enjoyable. The Last of Us: Part 1 and 2 were both incredible and a nice introduction to what the PS5 is capable of.

The Best Sony Console Since Playstation 2!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply put, I love my PS5! First of all, Best Buy's shipment of my system arrived quickly and without any hassle at all. I got Final Fantasy XVI for my birthday and now playing it on the new system. The console loads games from start to the title screen within 3 seconds! The games don't even have loading times at all, feels like playing the Super Nintendo again, haha. Yes, they finally got the instantaneous loading right once again. Of course, the graphics are beautiful, truly modern technology at its best. At $500, you could never buy a computer rig to match its capabilities. The PS5 is very quiet and never revs up like a jet engine (PS4 Pro old models), even during intense combat scenes. So I suspect the cooling system is great. I put the system flat or horizontal because electronics just work better that way. Plus, it'll be good for the console in the long run. You should do the same if you're reading this review. I've been a technician for these consoles since the first Playstation! The controller has weight to it and feels very premium. Haptic feedback is interesting...it actually pushes against your finger when using the R2 or L2 button. The battery life is a little short, but you can mess with it by turning the indicator light on the controller to low as possible to help with that. I like this Dual Sense controller, definitely an improvement over the Dual Shock 4 or past generations. I haven't played online yet (have not done so since the PS3), but I'm sure the online coop/multiplayer is great compared to the Playstation 3 era. Overall, a fantastic buy, highly recommended if you're thirsting for the latest in console gaming!

PS5 for the win!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally made the jump from my PS4 to a PS5 and I have been more than pleased after putting in a few hours of gameplay and use with it! This console definitely lives up to the hype with the improved graphics, speed, and the functionality of the new dual sense controller! The only complaint I have is the storage space. Out of the 825 GB on board, only about 650 GB or so are usable for games and user data. However, with the option to install an internal M.2 SSD, Sony definitely makes up for it!

A console you must have!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 Digital Edition is a game-changer in every sense of the word. From the moment I powered it on, I knew I was in for an unparalleled gaming experience. This console takes the torch from the PS4 and propels us into a new era of gaming with its remarkable speed, stunning graphics, and impressive enhancements. One of the most striking differences is the sheer speed of the PS5. Jumping from one game to another is practically instantaneous, thanks to its powerful hardware and optimized software. The days of waiting are over, allowing me to dive into my favorite titles without any unnecessary delay. Speaking of titles, the vivid graphics on the PS5 are a feast for the eyes. The level of detail, realism, and fluidity in gameplay is truly next-level. Every frame feels like a work of art, bringing games to life in a way that's truly immersive. The console's hardware prowess shines through, making each gaming session an awe-inspiring visual journey. But visuals are just part of the equation. The PS5 delivers an audio experience that is nothing short of astounding. The sound quality is rich, deep, and incredibly detailed. Every footstep, every whisper, and every explosion is rendered with incredible clarity. The console's 3D audio technology adds a new layer of depth, making it easier to pinpoint the origin of sounds and enhancing the overall sense of realism. Perhaps one of the most welcome improvements is the quietness of the fans. The PS5's cooling system works seamlessly in the background, keeping the console's temperature in check without generating excessive noise. This means you can fully immerse yourself in your gaming world without the distraction of constant fan noise. As an owner of the PS5 Digital Edition, I can confidently say that this version offers everything a modern gamer could want. With no physical disc drive, it's sleek and streamlined, fitting seamlessly into any entertainment setup. Plus, the convenience of a digital library cannot be overstated. In conclusion, the PS5 Digital Edition is a technological marvel that has raised the bar for gaming consoles. Its speed, graphics, sound quality, and overall performance are a testament to Sony's commitment to delivering an exceptional gaming experience. If you're looking to embrace the future of gaming, the PS5 Digital Edition is an investment that promises endless hours of enjoyment.

Nice Concept
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son purchased the PS 5 & has loved it since he purchased it. He paired the PS 5 with a new monitor a Samsung Odyssey Neo series that just came out around the same time at the PS 5. Together they make the ultimate gaming experience. The graphics run very smoothly & there isn't any lag time. The controller is very similar to the previous PS models. He plays it every chance he gets. The PS 5 has another great concept in that you can personalize the cover to your own style & favorite colors. It's not just the controllers that can be personalized now.

Q: QuestionWhat is the storage capacity?
Asked by Randy.
- A:Answer The Ps5 officially has 825 GB of internal storage space, it only has 667.2GB free for games, as system files take up the the remaining 157.8 GB.
Answered by Jack
Q: QuestionWould it be more worth it to get the disc version or the digital? Are there any differences other than the disc thing being there?
Asked by Mysti.
- A:Answer A lot of it depends on your specific needs. If someone has older Ps4 games on disc , of course , they are going to need a drive in order to access those older games. In addition, some people use their Ps5 as a movie player. In terms of actual game play and performance of a disc vs digital ; there really isn't a huge one. There are those that say a digital Ps5 runs a little faster and that the drive itself is way too loud , but I've not seen a huge difference.
