Cheltenham Town were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Birmingham City at the first hurdle, with both goals coming from Juninho Bacuna.

The Curaçao international opened the scoring with a heavily deflected effort in the 24th minute, with his shot hitting Liam Smith, giving Luke Southwood no chance.

His second was a perfectly placed free-kick from the edge of the box in the 32nd minute.

Southwood made a string of smart saves to keep it to 2-0, but Cheltenham failed to trouble Neil Etheridge at the other end, with no shots on target throughout the 90 minutes.
