Another Hit In This Series
I just love the Boys of Djinn MC series and Brendan’s story was no different. Even though Brendan and Candy don’t like each other when Candy needs help its Brendon that comes to her rescue. Brendon and Candy didn’t mesh well until they did and then it was steamy and intense with lots of action. I needed a few tissues in this book but it was worth it. As always, another winner for this author leaving me wanting more.
I just love the Boys of Djinn MC series and Brendan’s story was no different. Even though Brendan and Candy don’t like each other when Candy needs help its Brendon that comes to her rescue. Once more Rae B Lake has delivered a brilliant books. Romance, darkness and cliffhanger finish. Can be read as a standalone but highly recommend to read the full series to understand the characters and the MC background. I cannot wait for the next book.

Brendan’s background has left him emotionally damaged, paranoid and unable to trust. Candy works for the organisation that Brendan used to work for. They really don’t like each other, until one night Brendan comes to Candy’s rescue during her unauthorised undercover mission. Turns out they were both very wrong about how they felt about each other.
There are a lot of twist and turns in this story with plenty of tension, suspense, betrayal, steam and sadness. The ending will leave you impatient for the next book.
This is the first book of the Djinn series I have read I enjoyed it so much I am going to read the whole series from the beginning.

Thoughts - there is so much story packed into this book! I loved the push and pull between Brendan and Candy and then when you add the complexity of federal agents, stalkers, killers, secret societies and the club house there is never a dull moment. Special mention to how the story talks about suicide (check your trigger warnings) it’s a touchy subject to talk about but I think the love and support that surrounds the topic in the storyline really shines through. I have added the first 5 books to my TBR so definitely recommend read.
Plot- Forever haunted by his time as a federal agent Brendan is just trying to make it through each day before he has to unexpectedly come to the aid of an old work colleague. Reluctantly Brendan keeps a watchful eye over Candy while she tries to work a case with no backup and on her own time. Several run ins later and the tension is through the roof but while they’re working out if they love or hate each other a sinister plot is unfolding, one that requires everyone to help with.

I was not as happy with the ending because it felt a bit rushed, particularly in regards to the love story. This is why I didn’t give the book five stars. I’m definitely intrigued by the teaser chapter for the next book and will continue to be interested in this author’s work.

This is Brendan and Candy's story. Holy smokes!! Grab your tissues, a beverage of your choice and be prepared for a ride you never saw coming. The twist, turns, betrayal, love, loss, and steam had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Brendan needed Candy in his life after all that he and been through. Their chemistry is off the charts and when he needed her the most she stepped up and proved she was ol lady material. No matter how hard the Boys of Djinn MC want a peaceful life an ugly snake keeps reading it's head threatening to destroy it all and I can't wait for the day they finally chop the head of the snake off once and for all.

Brendan has struggled for a long while and at the most unexpected time, in the most unexpected place and with the most unexpected person he finds what just may the very one that can save him. There's LOTS of excitement, chaos, surprises and betrayals that are unexpected. Definitely never a dull moment!

Brendan and Candy have disliked each other from the get go. But when Brendan walks into a bar and sees her in trouble and asking for help, he obliges. He takes her to his hotel room and finds out that the men in the bar had slipped drugs into her drink. Brendan isn't sure why he helped her. He is trying to work through problems of his own, so he really doesn't need her hanging around. When things get hot between them, he fights it.
This book has ups and downs and you better have your tissues ready.

I don’t know if I can form understandable sentences after reading this story. This author always know how to get to me and this one I will say had me ugly crying. The characters are everything you could want. You are on the edge of your seat the entire time. The depth of the story telling is absolutely amazing.

This was my first book of the Djinn series and woah, I need to read the rest of the series now. My heart was put in a blender and then dumped out and stomped on. Hopefully the other books won’t be as painful to my heart but I’m not going to hold my breath. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Brendan (Boys of Djinn MC #6) by Rae B. Lake is full of MC drama, betrayal, violence, and loss with plenty of steamy moments between Brendan and Candy. OMG!!! Rae you have taken your readers on one h$ll of a journey telling the story of Brendan and Candy, what an emotional, suspenseful, gut wrenching story that will have you on edge from beginning to end, make sure you have a box of tissue on hand as the Boys of Djinn are back with a vengeance!
Brendan is an arrogant, angry man who is dealing with the effects he endured while he was in the WindStill program part of the FBI where he was abused, tortured and given mind- alter drugs. Now he is back with his brothers he is having a hard time coping, as he suffers from PTSD, panic attacks and paranoia. Brendan is angry, bad-tempered and irritable won't open up to his brothers as he fears his brothers think he is crazy especially when Wyatt and the others tell him they are fed up with his attitude. Unknown to his brothers he is seeing a therapist who is helping him cope, but he keeps questioning himself as he doesn't feel he fits in with the club.
Candance/Candy is an FBI agent who is hard-headed and opinionated with close ties to the club and works closely with Bishop a fellow agent as well as a patched member of the club. They soon butt heads as Bishop doesn't want her to go off the grid trying to find the person who killed Greta. Her stubbornness will end up putting herself in danger with her latest stunt when she is drugged, before the men could grab her Brendan walks in and Candy runs to him asking for his help. He takes her home, she comes on to him and he rebukes her advances. When he wakes and can't find her, he panics calls Bishop who has to calm him down, now Bishop asks him if he would look after her as he will be on an assignment he reluctantly agrees. As Candy quarrels with Brendan he thinks she is an arrogant, stubborn FBI agent and Candy has no time for Brendan's antics as she views him as a coward and dangerous. Now these two will begin a love/hate relationship.
Brendan takes it upon himself to protect Candy and the more time they are together the passion between them explodes as finally Candy gives her heart to Brendan especially when she learns what happened to him. Soon his brothers will learn about the demons that haunt him and his therapy sessions and are so happy to finally have their brother back. Candy is now in danger when she starts getting calls and texts by an unknown person who is spying on her. She panics, Brendan comes to her home finds cameras all through her house and takes her back to the clubhouse to stay him. Wyatt argues with Bishop who won't divulge information from the Bureau leaving Wyatt no choice but to exil Bishop . An angry Candy is not happy with the club when she learns Bishop is gone tells Brendan they will have no link to the inside as she was placed on administrative leave which has the brothers telling her their might be a conspiracy behind it all as Candy may have been about to uncover something. Candy and Brendan are closer than ever as finally Brendan with the love he has for Candy is able to control his demons.
This story will have you on edge as the enemy is headed towards them because they took down a house full of trafficked women and children and now a body is found at the clubhouse, leaving Candy in tears as this woman was tortured and killed the same way Greta was. Now Candy knows this is personal and wants to work with Brendan to eliminate this threat. Brendan goes looking into the dark web when he sees the person spying on Candy is Shade who is a member of the Faceless along with a picture of Agent Smith, Candy's mentor. Now they know Bishop is in danger, unable to locate Bishop they find that he along with Brendan's therapist Dr. Katt has been taken. So much tension and suspense when they find Shade, Agent Smith and Charmalene a woman connected to Wyatt and a beaten Bishop at a club. As they try to get to him, the wall shoots flames, Cody is injured and in need of medical attention. Now the brothers split up leaving Wyatt, Brendon, Winnie and Million to go after them but along the way are attacked. A hysterical Brendan calls for help and Candy urges Devlin to find them, what they find is heart-wrenching as Million is dead, Winnie is fighting for his life and Brendan is close to losing it as he blames himself as Million died to protect him . Now the club is trying to heal and regroup as they realize that they walked into a trap set by Shade, by reading Agent Smith's notebook they learn that Agent Smith was being blackmailed, Shade's real name is Jericho Timmons and finally they learn that their brother Liam has been out of prison for six weeks and someone from Million's past arrives at the clubhouse looking for him. Rae with her amazing storyline has given us a heartstopping cliffhanger as Bishop learns the identity of the leader who has orchestrated the destruction towards the Boys of Djinn. I have read all of the books in the Boys Of Djinn series by Rae B. Lake and now I've read Brendan. I don't know how she does it but Rae B. Lake has an amazing imagination to come up with some of the plots she does. This book has to be one of her best so far that I've read. It drew me in so hard I couldn't put it down. I laughed, I cried, and I felt steamy romance and rage. This book was packed with so much.
This book is about Brendan who is an ex-FBI agent and the SAA of the club. He was bored in the FBI and signed up for a secret program, Windstill, where they drugged and tortured him so badly turning him into the perfect killing machine before he knew he had to get out. The damage from what they did is long-lasting. This man is the most paranoid with the highest walls I've read in a book. We also get Candace or Candy in this book. She is an FBI agent and Bishop's partner. One of her informants and their child were killed and Candy vows to find who did it. She is doing this off the books with no backup so she's very lucky when she gets into trouble at a bar and Brendan is there to save her. Brendan cannot stand Candy. And he definitely can't trust her cause of who she works for. But one kiss changes it all. Brendan gets hooked and his walls start coming down. They go through some bumpy periods but they work themselves out. While they are getting closer they are both dealing with unknown threats. The MC saved some women and children that were locked in a house and trafficked. The guys running the operation didn't like that. And Candy has a stalker coming for her cause she's looking into her informant's death. The club temporarily exiles a member who they don't know if they're more enemy than ally anymore. They are all betrayed by someone they were close to. And a new group of bad guys shows up, The Faceless. By the end of the book, I was in tears.
I gave this book a 4.5-star rating because I felt Brendan and Candy went from enemies to lovers way too quickly. It was almost like enemies, next-page lovers with no in-between. I also gave this book a 4 spicy rating. It was hot and steamy for sure! This book is left on a cliffhanger (which sucks) but I can't wait for Bishop and Gabrielle's book next. I'm invested in the story and how the end comes out so much after this book. This book can be read as a standalone but parts you might not understand or people that are mentioned. You have to start at the beginning of the story or at the very least Preston's story to understand it all.

Intense, Emotional, Gut-Wrenching, MC Romance
The Boys of Djinn is an amazing series that takes you into the dark MC world that Rae B. lake’s has created. We love these boys and their commitment to family, honor, friendship, devotion, & dedication. This book follows Brendan who has been struggling since his return from a drug induced, super soldier program he volunteered for by the government. He knew he had to get out once the realization of what the program was but the memories and lasting impact takes a toll on him mentally daily. He’s been as strong as he can be for his brothers but some days it’s hard! Candy is a light for his darkness and she is a stubborn, strong, intelligent, and beautiful woman who takes his breathe away. She doesn’t put up with his nonsense and she embraces him just as he is. Candy has worked closely with all the Boys of Djinn through the FBI and the club so she knows they are good men. She never expected such strong feelings for Brendan but she can’t fight how she feels. They have a lot of issues and troubles surrounding them and there is a lot of chaos ensuing. This is a wild ride and there is a lot of devastation along the way so be prepared. I’m already counting down the days till Bishop’s book because the need for answers is high! Happy Reading!!

‘Brendan’ was an interesting read for sure. Brendan has been through a lot in life. He has been drugged and manipulated in a government program, which left him with lots of side effects. He doesn’t trust easy, and thinks everyone is against him. The only people he trusts, most of the time, are his MC brothers. And then there is Candace. Candace works for the FBI and he really doesn’t like her. And the feeling is mutual. But one night, Brendan ends up saving Candace and things change between them.
Although this book could be read as a standalone, and I did enjoy it, I think I would have loved it more if I read the previous books as well. From the moment I started reading I felt like I missed some information, and side characters that are main characters in the previous books, I just felt like I would have loved them so much more if I read their story first.
The romance and chemistry between Brendan and Candace, was pretty sudden. But it worked and I enjoyed reading their story. It definitely kept me hooked and I found myself rooting for them right from the start. Brendan was a bit too possessive for my taste, but knowing his past, it was understandable.

This is the first book I read by Rae B. Lake and it won't be for much longer because the story was intriguing from the very beginning making me not want to put the book down.
This isn't just a MC romance, its so much more. There are some emotional topics discuss in this book so I recommend you read the trigger warnings. With that said I really enjoy Brendan and Candy's enemy to lovers romance.
Brendan has been damaged physically and emotionally. He has many trust issues and it's unable to live a normal life after he left the FBI where he was transform into an emotionless soldier. When FBI agent Candy is in danger he is at the right place and time to save her. The dislike for each other has been know around Brendan's MC brothers for a long time but this doesn't stop the feelings of attraction they have every time they are around each other.
There are lots suspense, action, twist and turns and unfortunate circumstances that hit Brendan's already fragile hearth. Luckily for him Candy is now there to support and care for him in a way he never expected before. Their all consuming passion is one you don't want to miss reading because they are definitely explosive together.

Brendan is an having emotional problems and even though he is a brother of Djinn he is not trusting in the company that they work for. He helps out an FBI agent who hates him and was drugged in a bar. Candy is an FBI agent working off book on her own time looking for a killer but puts herself in danger and when she get in over her head Brendan just happens to step through the door. Brendan come in the bar and she throws herself at him and he realizes what is happening and helps her to his place but calls Bishop her partner. But nothing will keep Candy out of the bars. She and Brendan finally admit some things to each other. It seems they all are looking for one or more killers and they are also trying to figure out who is running human trafficking in town. Candy's partner and his woman are being held hostage everything else seems to come to a destructive head by a crazy man named shade and one that has betrayed is own. This was the first book I read by Rae B Lake. It was not what I expected. I really like the spin Ms. Lake does with the FBI and the MC. I almost feel like there is a bit of a role reversal in these organizations.
It is very obvious that Brendan and Candy do not like each other but when Brendan finds Candy in trouble he does not hesitate to help her. Each of them has made assumptions about the other person that has clouded their judgement. Their chemistry and connection is there but they need to be willing to move forward past their own issues. Candy is a strong female character that can hold her own and knows when she needs help. They learn over time they can trust and depend on each other.

When she goes off the books to try to find her informant, who was killed and whose baby was taken from her dead body, she needs back up and she has Brendan. This doesn’t go down to great, but in the end they work it out and finally give into their feelings and attraction.

Brendan was in the FBI was in a program that ended up not being on the up and up. Trust issues, paranoia, panic attacks and PTSD contribute to Brendan barely trusting his brothers and making him feel like no one really “Accepts” him. Candance (Candy) is an FBI agent who thinks she knows who Brendan is, only she really doesn’t. Candy is still trying to figure out who killed Greta and could end up getting herself in some trouble.

Emotional doesn’t cover this book as a description. It’s just savage…..
Given the backstory, you can totally get where Brendan is coming from and the fact he is so in tune with himself to recognise he needs help from a therapist as well as knowing what is ok paranoia and what is extreme reactions, says a lot about him. I liked the character more and more as the story went on and really loved how much he put himself out there for Candace.
Candace was badass but I did find myself wanting her to believe in herself a little more and not allow herself to be treated so bad by the FBI.
A fab story of them coming together as well as more action from the brotherhood as a whole and the series storyline keeps getting uncovered more and more.
Really lining this series and looking forward to Bishops story as well as what happens with Angel….

I wish I could give more stars !!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 This is Brendan and Candy's story. OMFG holy shit!!! I was freaking captivated from the first few pages and crying like a big baby The suspenseful twist, turns, and angst betrayal, love, and sexual chemistry had me on the edge from the very beginning Brendan needs Candy in his life after all that he has suffered and endured and their history they deserved this off the charts love Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and she was there for him when he needed her the most she stepped up and showed everyone she was ol lady material. And he wasn’t letting her slip away from the love he has for her this is a must read Rae does it again don’t play yourself and miss this book in this series has all of the suspense, drama betrayal and amazing sexual chemistry and love that Rae is known for love this series ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This book was a quick ready in witch i to my surprise enjoyed some of the charachters were a bit Romantic’ this include Brandon and Candy who very much hated it each at the begining but Brendon would always help her out of situations’ will he ever learn to trust after being totally destroyed by the FBI program’
The Spice in the book was not bad
And i liked how the author named some of the charachters in here like Million’ English

Now wait just a damn minute what the hell did I just read. I feel like I've just had my heart ripped out a Million times. That is just so not fair.This book definitely ended on a sad note even if there was a HEA for the main characters.
Brenden having been a test subject for the FBI with some super human type drug is struggling to not let his paranoia get the best of him and just when things look like they might come crashing down for him to end it all a little bit of sweet Candy saves the day or does she make things worse with her meddling into the death of an informant. These two go from hating on each other to not being able to stay out of the sheets, I liked the way the book flowed you got to have the intense drama but also wasn't left hanging to find out what was going on and its made me egor for the next book now.

Okay, first I went and bought the books previous in this series to read before this one. This book can be a stand alone book but I like reading books in order.
I love this series a lot.

Brendan is a member of the Djinn MC club and a former agent of the FBI. His traumatic involvement with the FBI has left him with PTSD and mistrust of everyone outside of the MC. Candy is an agent who interacts with the members of the MC that are still involved with the FBI. She has had interactions with Brendan in the past and they could be called enemies until Brendan saves her from what could have been a bad situation. Enemies become lovers and as Brendan learns to trust Candy, Candy learns that not everyone in the FBI can be trusted. This is a fast paced read with lots of action, a ton of steam and some torment to up the emotional turmoil. It ends on a major cliffhanger so be prepared!.

Terrific book. This is Book 6 of Boys of Djinn following Candy and Brendan. Brendan has PTSD after being abused in the Wi distill Program which is part of the FBI where they can legally torture and abuse. It’s left him angry and dealing with paranoia and let’s not forget the mind altering drugs they forced on him - like who would ever willingly go there. Branden is now back with his brothers and he’s having a hard time coping. His temperament is awful and finally, having had enough, Wyatt and the others tell him they are fed up with his attitude. Little do they know, he’s been seeing a therapist who is helping him but he’s still dealing with a lot.

Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster ride this was!
I love a good MC romance, and this one was so good. Brendan was so tormented from his past that it was truly heartbreaking. Candy is exactly what he needs she is sassy and takes no s**t from anyone.
There were some really heartbreaking moments in this book. Definitely come prepared with some tissues!!

Brendon has been through so much. After he quit the FBI he’s had trust issues, very paranoid and extremely anxious. He saves Candace who’s in over her head a sleezy bar doing undercover work on her own. I love the dynamics and the chemistry between theses two. They both deny their feelings falling into a love/hate relationship, but fate keeps them both on their toes and falling in love. The story action packed and is filled with a few twist and turns until the end as Brendan tries to keep his woman safe from harm.
