Participants will learn how to model replicable thinking steps that students can follow. They will learn to vary the think-aloud tone and cadence from the normal teacher voice to highlight thinking skills.

Participants will learn how to make existing plans their own. Each teacher will have the opportunity to dig into and rehearse key material form his/her specific grade level and content area.

Complex Text

Participants will dive into one of the RLA components of our structured literacy framework-the complex text routine! Teachers will discuss the purpose of complex text, understand the why and importance behind bridging the gap between IRA and complex text. Teachers will understand how to group students for complex text routines, practice a gradual release model when bridging from IRA to complex text skill levels, and practice new strategies to help teach skills to students.

Participants will review SCR/ECR expectations and rubrics, then explore cross-curricular opportunities for reading responses and writing within various content areas.

This training is to discuss what those resources are, and to teach case managers how we can get our parents/families to sign up for these services at the correct time/phase of their student's life.
