CEP COVID-19 Intake Form
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in NYC, the Caribbean Equality Project has expanded it's Healing Justice work to meet the emotional needs of the Caribbean LGBTQ+ community in NYC. This includes offering FREE culturally competent Remote Mental Health Services.

During the past 5 years, we have seen and learned that our vulnerable community members have always been essential and frontline workers. Our documented and undocumented black and brown LGBTQ+ community members work in the restaurants, grocery stores, nightlife industries, construction, and other labor-intensive jobs that have been impacted by the current shelter-in-place order. These workers are the backbone of our beloved City, and are currently experiencing a disproportionately higher level of emotional and financial stress. Many are confined alone in isolation, trapped at home with abusive family members, and some do not even have the means and ways to Stay Home during a state of national emergency.

As part of our Healing Justice work, CEP’s 5-year running “Unchained” Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrant support group program, has been transformed into a bi-weekly virtual space. Through this uncertain time of physical and social distancing, we are providing a safe space to affirm the unique experiences and identities of LGBTQ+ immigrants from the Caribbean. We do so in order to combat discrimination and hate violence. To join us, RSVP here: http://bit.ly/RSVP_Unchained

The coronavirus is impacting all aspects of our lives, including our physical and mental health. During the COVID-19 pandemic in NYC, we are offering FREE culturally competent Remote Mental Health Services. Counseling is being offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 am to 4 pm through video conferencing, and via phone by Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, Shane M. Tull.

If you're looking for emotional support, please email info@CaribbeanEqualityProject.org or fill out this form with your information.

About Caribbean Equality Project
The Caribbean Equality Project empowers the marginalized voices of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people of Caribbean origin and descent through advocacy, community organizing, education, cultural, and social programming.

To date, CEP is the only educational-based agency serving the Caribbean-American LGBTQ community in New York City and is dedicated to cultivating a supportive and progressive Caribbean community free of violence, oppression, and discrimination. Our advocacy efforts are directed towards fostering community partnerships and greater family acceptance. Additionally, we act as a liaison to government agencies and elected officials with the collective vision of a society based on respect, inclusion, and equality, regardless of an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity within the Caribbean diaspora.
