Q: What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned?
A: My stepfather worked as a roofer through all weather conditions for nearly 40 years and never complained. I remember as a teenager watching him day after day drag himself to the job site, even when he was feeling quite unwell, to make sure our family of seven had what we needed. It was through his efforts that I learned about work ethic and the value of a dollar earned.
Q: What has been your most rewarding professional experience?
A: My years at Bezdan have no doubt shaped my life both personally and professionally. I've grown up here. Having the hindsight view of the business, and helping navigate through some of the challenges along the way, have been rewarding on many levels. What's most rewarding though is working with so many dedicated and passionate employees as it's only through their effort and commitment we can continue serving our customers.
Q: Tell us something about yourself that may be surprising.
A: I’m a self-professed bird-nerd. I developed my passion for birds as a child while helping my mom tend to our pet canaries and lovebirds. Now I pride myself on being able to identify wild bird species through chirps and calls!
Q: What would you do with three hours to yourself?
A: My perfect three hours is enjoying a concert at the renowned Commodore Ballroom - my favorite venue for small, intimate shows in Vancouver. You can get up close to the stage on the dance floor if you want or enjoy from the table service areas. Plus, you get to see bands at the various stages of their music careers.
Q: How would you describe exceptional customer service?
A: Exceptional customer service is to listen carefully to each customer's needs. Then it's about doing what you say you're going to do to meet those needs. Consistency and follow-through are so key to the overall experience, and our team here works hard to provide that.
