Auction report summary

The introductory section of the CTOS Auction Report contains a summary of the auction sheet that is in Japanese.

This section is useful to get a quick overview of the information in the report, which is especially helpful since not everyone speaks Japanese.

Auction Sheet

The report comes with a copy of the auction sheet from the respective auction houses in Japan. The aim is to give buyers proof of the condition and a clearer picture of the history of the vehicle.

Lastly, the final section displays images of the car when auctioned. (if available)

Vehicle history report summary

The introductory section of the CTOS Vehicle History Report contains a summary of the more comprehensive information which can be found in the other sections. Additionally, details such as the vehicle’s specifications and any red flags you should be aware of can be found here.

This section is useful to get a quick overview of the information in the report, which is especially helpful when there are red flags brought to your attention.

Accident/repair history details

This section of the Vehicle History Report identifies further information about reported problems in the vehicle’s history, which may include: accidents, malfunctions, theft, fire damage, water damage and hail damage.

In order to help make better purchase decisions, this information is designed to give buyers a clearer picture of things that are normally difficult to know about a car which originated from Japan.

Odometer History of the car

This section fully displays for the recorded mileage at the time (if recorded), source of information, and the date it was recorded. This type of information is useful to ensure there hasn’t been any odometer related fraud, such as odometer rollback, in the vehicle’s history.

Additionally, here one can find what the vehicle was used for and if it was exposed to radiation.

Detailed history

This section of the Vehicle History Report identifies further information about the vehicle’s history, which may include: manufacture, registration, inspections, auction dates, odometer inconsistency, and any open recalls that may affect the vehicle.

Recall history

Recalls might sound alarming, but they are extremely common and arise when a potentially dangerous issue is identified with a vehicle. When this happens the manufacturer will issue a recall for all affected models.

Reasons for recalls can vary from small technical issues with windscreen wipers to major safety faults with airbags. In all cases, the vehicle will need to be checked by the manufacturer and fixed!

Before buying any Japanese used car, always check if there were recalls and if they have been fixed too.

Vehicle specification and safety

This section gives you information about the vehicles specification, collision ratings and breaking performance on wet and dry roads.

Especially useful when trying to compare with other used cars in the same vehicle segment.

Lastly, the final section displays images of the car when auctioned and a copy of the auction sheets. (if vehicle went through an auction).
