Cash 5 ticket purchased with Online Play wins $1.9 million jackpot

Saturday’s Cash 5 drawing produced a jackpot-winning ticket for a Wake County player.

The lucky ticket was purchased through Online Play and matched the numbers on all five balls, 7-14-18-33-39 to win the $1.9 million jackpot.

The jackpot marked the second highest in Cash 5 history. The highest jackpot ever won was on April 19, 2021, at $2.1 million.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Carolina Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.

Cash 5 is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets through Online Play on the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

Ticket sales from draw games like Cash 5 make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $725 million per year for education. For details on how $62.8 million raised by the lottery made a difference in Wake County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.

If you enter a ticket with a second-chance promotion, you will receive your points and entries automatically when you scan the ticket into your online account to collect points. I like to play but I don't ever expect to win; its less disappointing then. If you have nothing to look forward to, then when you get nothing, its not so bad. I've been playing Cash 5 for quite awhile and I might win $1 every few weeks. I'm happy to see that. It does seem all the big wins are in the bigger areas of the state. I still have questions about the cash 5 Wednesday and Thursday they only gross 200,000 in sales 1.2 to 1.4 million and then 1.4 to 1.6 million so on Friday it jumps to 2 million double what it did in two days. So how much did the cash 5 take in last night for you to only give out 1.9 million dollars and what do the lottery do with that money. And I understand that lottery is design to take in more than they give out. I think the sales of the night should be added even if somebody hits the jackpot cause it looks like the lottery is scimming off the top NC Lottery

The lottery doesn't keep the remaining profits, 100% of earnings go to education.
