Description
The presentation will look at the etiology of calfhood diseases. Further, a discussion on various strategies to improve disease resistance will be presented. Lastly, we will look at data that indicates that early life health and performance of calves can have long-term impacts on the (re)productivity of the animal.
Objectives
- Understand why calves are at a high risk for developing infectious disease in early life.
- Know strategies to improve disease resistance and recovery from disease.
